31 week doctors appointment

hey again...

Chris and I went to my doctors appointment this morning. It was a quick one so there is not a lot to report. My BP was still great 124/72 and I had only gained one pound since my last appointment. YEAH! I always worry about the BP since they take it right after you see how much you weigh. I think I am going to go take a tour of the hospital tomorrow evening. They only have the tours 2 times a month or so and its so hard to fit it into our schedule. I have heard that I will love the rooms. From what I have heard they are suites, which is a lot different than what they were when Conner and Avery were born.

I think that is actually all to report today. I go back in two weeks, actually on July 3rd. A few days after that I go to the beach for a couple of weeks and when I come back I will be just about 37 weeks!! At that point I will go every week... and Kennedi will soon be here. Not too much longer.

Until next time...

update and showers

Hey everyone… well I am 31 weeks and one day according to our calculations… as of today we only have about 62 days to go. We do not go to the doctor until Friday but I wanted to send a quick update about the past few weeks.

Mom and my sisters had a baby shower for Chris and me a few weeks ago. I was waiting to bog about it until I got some pictures to post. My computer died so I had to wait until I got it back. We got a lot of really cute clothe. Now Kennedi’s closet if officially full. We do not need another outfit for her that is under 12 month. We also got the diaper pail, stroller system and many of the ladybug accessories for her room.

A few days after that, I had my shower at work, Again we got so much that we needed. We got the rain forest jumparoo which I know she will love, lots of diapers and wipes and of course more clothes. We also got the boppy and a cover. We are now almost ready for Kennedi to be here and that we have most of the essentials at this point.

It amazes me how technical some of the baby things are. It took me about 30 minutes to figure out how the lid went on the diaper pail. Usually I have a ton of common sense but it seems that since I have been pregnant that has gone out the window. I just hope it comes back when the baby is here.

We also had Chris’ son Dakota two weeks ago for the week. He is 41/2 and seems to be really excited about his sister being here. We took him out and bought him some kid’s books about a baby and being a big brother. He did a lot of asking about when Kendi (as he calls her) will be here. At four he has no idea as far as time frame.

I am also in the progress of having the nursery painted. Becca came over yesterday and drew out the scene on the wall. She is in there as I type painting part of the scene. It looks so cute so far and it’s exactly like the theme of the room. I can’t wait until it is all done and I will be sure to post pictures of the completed project.

Well that is all until Friday. Here are some of the pictures from the shower all the gifts we got… enjoy!!

29 weeks down.. only 11 to go...

Well I am a little over 29 weeks now.. only 11 to go!! If she is nice maybe only 8 more to go. As long as it is after the 19th of July when I am back home from the beach!!

I had my doctors appointment on Wednesday. It was the dreaded glucose test.. YUCK! Chris was able to go to this one, he was thrilled since he wants to be at all of the appointments. I was not as thrilled since he tells on me all the time!! The best news I got that day was that I had only gained 2 pounds and my blood pressure was 120/70. YEAH!!! Lets hope it is that way the rest of the time (or even less).

So.. I went in and drank my wonderful tasting orange drink and then an hour later had to get my blood drawn... In the meantime we had our appointment. Kennedi's heart rate was 136 (i think) and I measured right on at 29cm. I guess she is not as big as I thought she was right now. The way she kicks and moves she feels a lot bigger than she should be.

The nurse asked if there were any questions and of course I said no. I was not going to tell her about the contractions that I have had thinking it was no big deal. Well Chris spilled those beans! thanks a lot! Anyway, they said it was ok as long as they stopped when I drank water and put my legs up. So far they have and I have not had any in a few days. But why would Chris stop there? He also went on to tell the doctor about my travel plans this summer. I will be gone for 2 weeks in July and when I get home I will be about 3 1/2 from my delivery date. The doctor was not thrilled about it but Chris told her that he had tried to talk me out of it and it was not going to happen. She asked me what I would do if I had the baby 4 weeks early and had to spend extra days up there. Now lets see... if the baby is healthy and 4 weeks early and I deliver up there and have to stay there a few extra days.. AT THE BEACH!!! gee .. what would I do?!?! But I do not think that will happen. I had one 3 weeks early but the one after that was stubborn and was only a day early. Since I want her to come early I figure she will be a week or so LATE!

Well I guess that is all for the updates. We are slowing getting everything we need and getting her room set up. If only we could find a cradle for when she comes home! I think after that I will be a little more relaxed. As of now she will go straight to her crib, which would not be bad if she slept through the night right away (like Avery did most nights) but walking into the other room to get her ... No thanks!!

I got the call from my doctor yesterday and my 1 hour came back great but my iron is low. So off I go to the drug store to get an iron supplement!! I now go back to the doctor every 2 weeks so the updates will be a little more frequent.

Until then...... have a great summer!!

Tara and Chris.

27 week 3D Ultrasound

Wow... what a night!! Chris, Conner, Avery and I went for our 3D ultrasound. It's pretty cool at this stage to see her cheeks all chubby... we got some of her smiling and opening her mouth.. Chris says he has to get used to two females talking a lot in the house. I didnt think it was too funny!! She had her foot up by her head a lot and her hand in front of her face but the pictures were still way too cute!!

I just wanted to post the pictures before I sat back and relaxed for the evening...

mouth wide open

you can see her hand and her foot is up by her eye.

Mother's Day

It has taken me a few days to write more but I wanted to take a few minutes to write about Mother’s Day. Of course this is not my first one but it was probably one of the best ones so far. Each year on Mother’s Day weekend we have a lacrosse tournament in Roswell. What better way to spend a Mother’s Day than to watch a child on the ball field playing a sport that he loves (and it helps that he goes out and kicks some butt)!

The morning started out with Chris making me breakfast (and yes he cooked it). He brought me eggs over easy and toast. I love to eat this in the morning. After that the boys had been downstairs and they both came up into my room and had these looks on their faces like they were up to something. But then again with my boys…. what’s new?? they each pulled out gifts from behind their back.

Avery had in his little hands a glass case with a new pair of sunglass. This is something that I have needed so badly. I got a nice pair of Ray Bans. I guess Chris got tired of me constantly taking his glasses and him being left with none. After that Conner pulled a little blue bag out from behind his back. Inside that blue bag was a blue box (some of you may know what I am getting at). Inside the blue box was a necklace, not just any necklace but a Tiffany’s necklace. I was shocked. Then Conner told me that he had been saving up his money at his dad’s house and he bought the necklace with his money. I thought I was going to bust out in tears but I think I was in shock so much that it saved me from that. this is the kid that has his the teenage years so badly that many days I want to put him through a wall (no I have not done that yet)… I have to admit if he was trying to butter me up for something… IT WORKED!! I could tell how proud he was of what he did by the look on his face. One day I hope he has a little girl that I can pass that necklace on to.

After we got done at Avery’s game (they won so it made the day even better) I got to choose where to eat. Since we were on the north side I decided on Dave & Busters. I had never been there and I wanted the boys to have fun too (all 3 of them). They did!!

By the time we got home I was EXHAUSTED!!

I will post another update tonight….. We all go for another ultrasound where we will be able to see her chubby cheeks!! I hope she cooperates for it. She is at the point where she moves around non stop and it’s starting to hurt. I guess she will follow in her big brother’s footsteps and be a big baby. I am mentally preparing myself for another 9lb baby!! YIKES!!
