Chris Update.....

Hey there…

I just got off the phone with Chris this morning and he gave me the update….

I guess I should start from the beginning yesterday for those of you that had not heard…. Chris was on his way to Macon to pick up Dakota and right before he got to Griffin on 16 he started having chest pains, sweats and a lot of pain in his neck. He called me and told me that he was driving himself to the ER. Luckily he was pretty close to the hospital and it is one of the hospitals he works at part time (he was working the night before).

I got there about 90 minutes after he did and when I got there he was doing better but still have some dull pain. His nurses said that when he came in he looked horrible and like someone that had a heart attack. They did an EKG on him and it did not come back completely normal. The fist enzyme test came back fine. They went ahead and admitted him for the night. I had the baby with me and extra kids at the housed last night so I came home a few hours after I had gotten there. About 11pm I talked to Chris and they did the second enzyme test and it came back fine. They still had one to do this morning and I think they might be doing a repeat EKG today (but not sure).

When I talked to Chris this morning the 3rd test came back fine so it was not a heart attack. He thinks that he will have to go do a stress test this week as an outpatient and see what that turns up. He is not sure what it was and so far this morning the doctor had not been in to see him. The nurse came in a little bit ago and said the doctor was there but on another floor so hopefully he will see Chris soon. We will let you know what happens this week with the stress test…

A week in review...

Last week was Kennedi's second Auburn game. It was an early game so the day was not as long for her as it was the week before. It's hard to get over there and tailgate when the game starts at 11:30am. Even though it was early it was still extremely hot. Well actually it was miserably hot! The game was a good one in the fact that we won but it was not always a pretty one. Anyway, Kennedi looked adorable in her pink Auburn onsie and she even got a new t shirt for cooler games. This one is long sleeved and I don't have any pictures yet. The whole game we were commenting on how it could rain a few drops and feel great. Well we got our wish... plus some! Late in the fourth quarter we felt some raindrops. We were joking about how we wanted this earlier in the game. Right after that the sky opened up. I can not even say it poured because it was a lot more rain than that. I felt like Hannah was directly above us. We tried to get under cover quickly but so did the rest of the 87,000 plus fans at the game. By the time we got in a dry spot we were soaked! It was an uncomfortable ride home that afternoon.

The next day Chris, Kennedi and I were on our way to church and Kennedi threw up all over the car seat. Not spit up but all out puking!! She was so pitiful but such a good girl throughout the whole ordeal. Needless to say we turned around, went back home and took care of a sick baby. We are still not sure what was wrong with her but we think maybe she got too hot on Saturday. Thankfully the Auburn game is away this week and then next week its a night game.
Speaking of Auburn games, this week Kennedi got a new outfit to wear to the games. She will be the cutest baby there!!

need I say more?
This week also brought some changes to Kennedi..... She decided this week that she did not need to be swaddled anymore. Gee 5 weeks old and bam, she is a big girl!! She would kick out of the swaddle as soon as we put her down. She has done great so far without it.
The other even that took place (last night actually) I am not thrilled with but it had to happen. Kennedi slept in her big crib for the first time!! Chris and I have had so much trouble sleeping because Kennedi likes to make noises. She doesn't cry when she wakes up but she grunts, babbles and breathes heavy. We wanted to see how she would do in her room (more Chris wanted to see, I still thought she was too little to sleep all alone). We put her in bed last night and she slept 5 hours!! SWEET! Why did we not do this before?? She went from 10:30 last night until 3:30 this morning. When she woke up I fed her, put her in her crib and she went another 3 1/2 hours. It was wonderful. I still can not believe she likes her own room and crib instead of the pack and play that is in our room but I guess if it makes her sleep better than we will go with it.
Well have a great weekend and WAR EAGLE!!

4 weeks already!!

Wow, I can't believe it, today Kennedi turned 4 weeks old!! It makes me sad to think that she is getting older each day and much bigger. I want so bad for her to stay little forever but I know it can't happen. Chris went and got her foot prints from when she was born and we put her foot up to it. It is amazing how much bigger those tiny feet have gotten since the first day.

I just got home a little while ago from visiting Chris at work. We only stayed about 20 minutes but the reason I took her down there was to see how much she weighed. Of course I have to get her weighed at 4 weeks for her baby book (which I have yet to write in). She is steady gaining weight. Tonight she was 10lbs 5oz. She has gained 8oz in a week. That absolutely amazes me that she has gained so much because I see how much she spits up each time she eats. But she really is amazing.

Now for the boys.... Avery had his first football practice tonight. Much to my surprise, he was not the smallest boy on the team! Actually the majority of his team is his height or close to it. They may weigh a little more than him but its hard to be smaller when he is only about 65 pounds. There were a few that were much bigger than he is. I just hope that our team did not get all the small guys. I would hate to be going up against the big guys every week. Avery will keep me busy this fall with practice 3 days a week and then games on the 4th.

Conner has also started his football season. The middle school had a game last night and.. well... we lost. We are hoping that it was just the first game jitters and that next week we will have a better outcome. He, like Avery has football practice 3-4 days a week and then a game on the 5th.

Needless to say, Kennedi will get used to sitting at her brothers practices and games very quickly. So far she has been perfect and has slept through almost everything. The boys are waiting until the days they can hear her calling their names from the sidelines. She is going to be so proud of her big brothers.

I guess that is all for now. Kennedi is starting to stir in her crib.

I took a few pictures today for her 4 week birthday... enjoy them!!

Kennedi's 1st Auburn Game

Since yesterday was opening day for Auburn football and Chris and I have season tickets, we took Kennedi to Auburn for her 1st game. I have to say that I was nervous at first because of the crowd and I did not know how she would react to the loud noises (especially me screaming) but she did great! Most of the game she spent sleeping, even through the yelling of the fans. I on the other hand was more calm at that game than I think I have ever been in my life at a football game. I don't know if it was because she was there with me or if I just didn't think it was the most exciting game. Its hard to get excited when you are ahead the whole game and the other team (Louisiana Monroe) did not look too much better than a high school team. We bought her her first Auburn onsie (it was pink of course) and she had her Auburn hat that her Aunt Barbie bought her seconds after she was born (OK it was a few days after but seconds sounds like Kennedi is more of a fan). She looked so cute!! It was about a thousand degrees out and we were all burning up but she looked so cool in her outfit. I wish I could go around all day in a lightweight onsie without people looking at me like I have major issues.

Well, Kennedi is waking up from her nap so I guess my time on here is over. We go back to Auburn on Saturday for game #2 against Southern Mississippi (I hope this one is a little more exciting but I do not think it will be)....

Have a great Labor Day weekend!!

gotta love the band... I will have to get the best part of the band at next weeks game...

3 Weeks Old Already!!

hey everyone,

Today Kennedi turned 3 weeks old. The time is really going by quickly and I wish there was a way to slow it down. I took Kennedi to the pediatrician this morning for another weight check. I am a little paranoid because she spits up so much. I don't just mean often but the amount that comes up is a lot more than I have ever seen. I have been worrying that she is not keeping enough down. Chris tells me that I am just paranoid... I guess he is right (as usual). When Kennedi was placed on the scale it said she was 9lbs 13.5oz. OK.. I guess she is gaining just fine. I still wish I knew why she spit up as much as she does but I guess for now I do not need to worry about it as much as I have been.

This past week we took Kennedi to get some pictures taken. She did so well!! We got some with her eyes wide open and then others she was sound asleep. When we looked at the proofs there were only 3 pictures that we said no to right away. The rest were yes or maybes. She takes such great pictures already! It will be about 4 weeks until we get our framed picture, I will have to figure out a way to get it on the blog....

She has changed so much in the past 3 weeks. We spent awhile trying to figure out who she looked like. When people first saw her they immediately said things like... oh look those are Chris' cheeks or... she looks just like her daddy. Well I hate to say this but... no she doesn't!!! My mom brought over a picture of me when I was a baby... WOW it is amazing. Kennedi looks exactly like I did when I was a baby. When Chris and I saw the picture we both were amazed. I have scanned the picture that I am talking about and will post it....

This weekend Kenendi will go to her first Auburn game. This will also be her first time out of state. I cant wait to see her get all excited as the players come out on the field. Maybe her first words really will be "War Eagle". Thankfully she 1) is a great traveler and 2) loves her front pack. We will be sure to take lots and lots of pictures to share of her in all her Auburn gear. I think she is as excited as I am for college football season to finally be here.

Well I think that is all for now. Time to get the older kids in bed since it is a school night and hopefully Chris will be home from work soon. Have a safe and fun Labor Day weekend!!
