Warm days and storms...

you are never too young to wear some beads... Happy Mardi Gras!!

What a great day it was here in Atlanta yesterday! The weather was beautiful and Chris was off of work (which does not happen on a weekday too often). We were so productive while the boys were in school. We took the hard top off the jeep and put the soft top on, washed both cars and sat and waited on the insurance adjusters to give us the estimate on the storm damage we had last week. Oh yeah.. and dog guard came and moved the invisible fence to the backyard. Chris was a little pissed about the dogs (or dog) digging in the front flower beds.
While we were getting everything done, Kennedi was taking her morning nap or sitting in her little car. She LOVED the car!! It was a gift from one of the nurses that Chris works with (Thanks Tammy... she loved it). I thought she was going to be too little for it since it did say 12 month and up but I was wrong (yet again). We took a short walk and she put her hand on the steering wheel as if she was really steering the car. It was great! Here are some pictures of Kennedi enjoying her little car...
I am ready for a drive Daddy!!

our little girly girl!! Wow I hope that changes a little as she gets older!!

Here we go!!

Well I mentioned the insurance people coming out for a little visit... For those of you that do not live in the area I will update quick on that. Last Wednesday we spent most of the evening under tornado warnings. Those of you who know me well know that I am scared to death of storms and unfortunately passed that down to Avery!! Well, Avery saw the warnings on TV and started to get a little worried... OK a lot worried!! I actually was not worried about this storm and told Avery so. Tornado warnings and watches are not unusual down here (its a little early for them). I just figured this would be another thunderstorm and would pass quickly. I was right about it passing quickly!! The sky got all weird and I went on the back deck and heard a tornado siren (I think from the next town over) my neighbor was coming up the road on his bike and I didn't think too much of it. Ave asked if we could go into the basement. I gave in and he gathered some things to bring down to keep him busy and I grabbed the cat (Conner had Kennedi). We got everyone downstairs for what I figured was going to be more of a drill and I headed back up to get a bottle and some food for Kennedi. As soon as I got upstairs I heard really loud noises on the roof and looked outside to see HUGE balls of hail!! I have never seen hail this big before in my life. I thought for sure we would have broken windows and everything else!
Here is the hail in the backyard.. taken from the basement window.... Conner has the softball sized hail in his hand. This was a little while after the storm. It was the oddest shape and very sharp.
As fast as it came in, the storm was over....
Ends up we are getting one side of the house resided and a new roof, along with some other things here and there. Ugh it is way too early in the season for this but so far our insurance company has been great!! Oh.. did I mention that Chris was at work during the storm?? Lucky him, well lucky car!!
Hopefully we will have some tales to tell about baseball this weekend and Avery's first lacrosse game of the season that is supposed to be tomorrow... until then.. have a great weekend!!

6 month baby check

Chris and I took Kennedi to Dr. J for her 6 month check. We try to guess her height and weight each time we go in to see how close we are. Just about every time Chris is the closest, he is usually only a few ounces off. This time I was closest (yeah Tara). Kennedi weighed 17 lbs 1 ounce and was 27 1/4 inches long. She is about 85% for weight and she is off the chart for height. She is my tall baby!! She got 3 shots, her poor legs look like pin cushions tonight. There is one bruise and when I took off 2 of the band-aids I could see where they bled. She has been so good today considering the shots. Of course I am sure that the Tylenol helped that a lot. Now she is snuggling in her crib with her little blanket teddy's (2 of them). She loves to sleep with her face covered as you have seen in numerous photos.

Aunt Barbie (my sister) came over today to see Kennedi (and Conner and Avery of course). She needed her baby fix and Kennedi fulfills that! She always comes with camera in hand and she sent me the link to the pictures she took today and they are WONDERFUL! I am waiting for her to email some so I can post them. I will get them on as soon as I get them.

Chris had to work today but at least he is close (at Fayette). He gets off at midnight and I know he is TIRED. He has worked late almost every night this week. That is rough when you get off at midnight or so and then have to drive an hour home. So I like it when he works his PT in Fayette and only has a 20 minute drive home. Either way I guess I am asleep every night.

Well I guess that is all for my 6 month check update. Time to go get comfy and watch a little television before I fall asleep.

Weekend Update....

I think I need to type fast today since naps have been very short today. Last Friday I took Kennedi to get her 6 month pictures taken and this morning we both went to preview them and decide what to get. I hate this part because the photographers we use are awesome and there are so many pictures to choose from. These pictures were incredible. She has such a great personality that comes through in every picture. This was the last sitting for the naked pictures and they were so cute. I did not realize how chunky she is until I saw the pictures of her sitting there in nothing but the bow in her hair. Hopefully soon we will be able to get all the kids pictures taken to add them to the family album!

Yesterday Avery started lacrosse practice. He was so excited to finally be playing again!! He did a great job. Many of the kids he played with last year have moved up to the U15 age group while Avery is in the U13 still. It was nice to look out on the field and see that Avery was not the only little one out there! I can't wait until this season starts and we are traveling around Atlanta watching his games!! When we got home from practice we were rushed to get dinner and then relax a for a few before it was bedtime. Kennedi had not even eaten so Conner stepped up and fed her. It was so cute watching this!! Avery wanted to feed her too so I had to tell him he could do it later. Maybe tonight he will still want to feed her. The boys love her so much, I know I say that every blog almost but I was so worried for a long time that they wouldn't have much to do with her. I am so thrilled that it has been just the opposite and that we can joke about how the boys fight over her and how we have to time each one holding her many days so that there is not an argument about how one got her longer than the other!
Sunday, Conner had his first baseball scrimmage of the year. It is amazing to see how much has changed since last spring. He was hitting the ball great!! Two solid hits (and a strike out)!! he played a lot of second base where he had some great tags and then he ended with catching. This is another position he loves but me not so much! I get a little nervous when that bat is swinging above his head!!
Well we take Kennedi to her 6 month appointment on Thursday morning. She has been so fussy lately and I know this weekend is going to bring it on even more since she will be getting more shots. I can't wait to see how much she weighs and how long she is! I think she is tall for her age but I am just going by the pants she wears that now would have to be considered Capri's.
OK well time is up! Kennedi is up crying again, this one was a 45 minute nap, longest one of the day!! I hope y'all have a great day and I will post again on Thursday.
