It's your birthday....

It's your birthday....
I know I am late because last week was your birthday!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO AVERY!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!

I can't believe he is 14 already! Seems like yesterday I was holding that baby in my arms!!

Ave actually turned 14 on the 16th but I have been so far behind in the blog I did not even think about putting the birthday post up then.

So.....

I decided to save it until all his celebrations were done.....

We had the normal birthday dinner last week. Avery is so easy at times. When I asked him where he wanted to go for his dinner (it is always his choice) he chose Red Robin!

That caught me off guard. I expected something big. If I got to choose I would say Melting Pot or Fogo De Chao (two places I have never been). I guess I should be glad he is so easy when it comes to stuff like this.

So we went and then last night he had 3 of his buddies over to hang out and spend the night.

Another easy choice. He even told me that he didn't want a cake or gifts or anything. Well, on the cake I told him that was not an option ... what better excuse to have cake????

Hard to believe that this time next year I will have yet another driver in the house. How crazy is that?? Really, am I old enough to have 2 kids that drive????

Gotta love the candle or maybe that is a really big lighter!

Kennedi stayed up late so she could have a piece of the cake. There was no way she was going to bed until she got some. She had seen it earlier and asked to have a piece every 10 minutes or so. I told her when daddy got home we would have cake. She doesn't forget a thing! As soon as Chris walked in the door she went over to the counter and said, "daddy cake"!

another nice surprise was that Conner was home with us!! He had plans to go out but they fell through and so we were able to spend a little time with him. Well... he was home at least, even if we only saw him when we had cake because he was downstairs on his games most the time. But he was home!

HAPPY 16th BIRTHDAY!!!

(cont. from below)....

Yes little did we know that right now (2:42am, if this posts when I told it to) I was giving birth to my first child, a son.

4 1/2 hours of labor and no meds! It was an easy delivery as he came quick. I guess he wanted to arrive 20 days early.

What a sweet baby he was!!

and what a wonderful teen he is now!!!

I still cant believe it... 16 years ago (as I get teary eyed typing this).

Conner, you are a great kid and such a joy to be around. Your siblings could not have asked for a better brother. They look up to you and want to be just like you. You are a wonderful role model (most of the time) for them.

You have such brains and such talent and I really believe that you will achieve everything you set out to do!

I love you more than you will ever know!! I am very proud to call you my son!!

16 years ago tonight I was 21 days short of my due date with my first child when I felt a little funny. No pain (yet) just a few little twinges.

C's dad told me we were heading to the hospital and I said no way, we were 3 weeks away. They would just look at us, laugh and send us home telling us it was too early.

This was about 10:00pm on November 9th, 1994.

Little did we know!

....to be continued!

It's party time!!

A few weeks back was K's 2nd birthday. We would love to have celebrated it then but the big boys were at their dads house for their summer trip. Chris and I decided that we could not have a party without the brothers that Kennedi adores so we impatiently waited to have the party.

This past weekend we were able to celebrate with a few family members and friends.

K and one of her cousins, M...

We had a great time and Kennedi got lots of great things.... The theme this year definately was Dora! We can now open up a Dora the Explorer store right out of the house!

Aunt Barbie loved to get some Ryleigh time

The Dora cake.... and it was GOOD!!

K blowing out the candles... She had to get the help of daddy.

Probably one of my favorite looks is K's CHEEEEESSSEEE face!

ahhhh now on to think about the oldest's birthday... Thankfully he agrees that the 16th party is more of a girl thing so he thinks he is opting out of that. But at any rate I will have to think of something creative for him!

HAPPY 75th BIRTHDAY DAD/PAPA!!

Last night most of the family got together to celebrate my dad's 75th birthday. It was not a surprise, at his age do you even want to surprise them anymore? You never know how it will end up. Just kidding!

When Chris and I were pulling into the parking lot of the restaurant we saw this...
\
It was so pretty!

The rain had cleared and all that was left was a beautiful and huge rainbow. You could also see the other end but by the time I took the pictures it had faded a lot.

This was all of us who were able to make it..... One of my sisters could not make it. She was out of town visiting her oldest son for his birthday (which is 2 days before my dad's). We missed ya Karen!

and of course one of my dad (and mom)

Aunt Beth entertained Kennedi almost the whole time. Kennedi LOVES her! I think they both had a blast. I did feel bad when Beth could not even eat her dinner without Kennedi on her lap. I just hope Kennedi did not eat all of Beth's food!!!!

Kennedi and her napkin kerchief. It was adorable and she actually kept it on her head for quite awhile.

....after that my camera battery died. Figures that I forgot to charge it.

It was a great time!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!!

end of a weekend....

and I have to say that I am glad to see some parts of the weekend come to an end!!!

Really it all started on Thursday when I got a call from Conner at school telling me he was not feeling well... so off to school I went! We got home with him and he was on the couch the rest of the day. Actually he fell asleep Thursday night about 10pm and slept until 1pm on Friday. WOW!

as soon as I got home from picking Conner up from school, I got a text from Chris who was at work saying that he was sick and that he was probably going to come home soon... and he did!! He walked through the door and off to bed he went.

We have 5 people in the house.... so that is 2 down.. so far...

Well 3 down really, Kennedi had been acting funny for a day or two and it would show in her diapers... ICK!!

I was feeling great... well until about midnight when it all hit me too.... it was not fun at all.. I thought I was going to die! I do not ever remember being that sick.

So... Friday morning I got Avery up for school since he was the only one not sick (and I really hope that he doesn't get it) and off he went. Poor kid got up, dressed, got his own breakfast and got himself out to the bus. He was wonderful!!

Then since we were all feeling bad I called Grandma to see if she wanted to keep her youngest grandchild for a little while.... hmmm nope... they were also hit with the bug. Wow what are those chances?? Crazy weekend!!

Of course this weekend we were supposed to celebrate Avery's 13th birthday and we had planned on taking him to Mid Evil times.... We were all so excited but had to postpone it until we were all feeling a lot better. I feel so bad!! We will have to make sure we get into the Lego Store while we are up at Mid Evil times.... only a few weeks and we are going.

I did not take any pictures this weekend. I figured that no one wanted to see what was going on in our house.. ha ha... Hope this week ends up being a lot healthier!!

That is how the weekend went. Today we finally all felt a lot better, well except for Kennedi, she is still having her dose of it. I hope it ends for her soon. I really am getting sick from changing her crib sheets every time she wakes up!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AVE!!!

Wow, 13 years ago today...

I went into labor.. It was way too early in the morning but we knew it was time to head to the hospital.

After a very hard but only 6 hour labor, at 11:42am, Avery arrived. He was 8lbs 14oz and 23 inches long! He was much bigger than the doctors thought.

The day that started it all for Avery!

15 Years Ago.....

on this very night I went into labor with child #1. It was about 10pm on November 9th and I did not think I was in labor, in fact I told Conner's dad that I was NOT going to the hospital, I had 3 weeks to go. I figured they would laugh at me and send me back home. He won and we were on the way to the hospital.

About 4 hours later.... at 2:42 am on November 10, 1994.... CSB was born. He was 20 days early and weighed in at 7 lbs 3 oz and was a short 19 inches long. It was a fast, easy, natural birth (compared to the next two).

This very sweet

laid back

baby boy

grew up

way too fast

and then

turned into

this wonderful,

sweet, handsome

15 year old boy

almost

overnight!

AND I COULD NOT BE ANY MORE PROUD OF HIM THAN I AM!!!!

So tomorrow after we wake up and take Kennedi to school, Conner and I will be heading down to the DMV to get his learners permit. That is correct, the cherished driving permit. Down here they can get it on their 15th birthday so they have it for 1 year before the regular license.
Oh help those other drivers!!

So I guess tomorrow my oldest will be 15 years old and my youngest just turned 15 months old this weekend!!

It's October already?!?!?!

This weather is GREAT!! I am starting to love October, I just hope it stays like this.

I am getting so bad about this. It has been a week since the last time I blogged and I can not think of what happened this week. I know there were some things I wanted to mention and of course they are gone. I really need to keep paper and pen or maybe use the memo on my phone. Gotta get into that habit.

Saturdays mornings in the fall usually mean games for Conner and/or Avery. Today was just Avery's lacrosse game. They lost 7-2 but man did Avery play well! I sat down on the end and could hear the way he communicates with his teammates and helps them "see" what they can't in the middle of plays. He had some great checks today too. Avery is also FINALLY growing into his D-pole. We have been meaning to cut it but it slips our mind until we see him out on the field again. By the looks of it I do not think it will need to be cut. Avery just maybe growing!!

These pictures are actually from last weekend. I was by myself at the game with Kennedi so that meant no chance for picture taking. Hopefully next weekend I will be able to take some more. Chris is off on Saturday so he will be there to chase the littlest monster.

There was no tournament scheduled for Conner's baseball team this weekend, which was great news to me!!

The first weekend in October also means it is time for the "Cotton Pickin Fair". This is usually a pretty neat little fair out in the country. This year it was not so neat! Well the fair itself was but the traffic getting to it... not so much. I think they need to relocate to something other than a small country road. But anyway, Kennedi and I had a girls day today and spent a few hours there after Avery's game. She was so good!! I actually went looking for some specific things and only found a couple of things. Yay for the wallet!! I did not spend nearly as much as I thought I was going to. One thing that I bought for Kennedi is so adorable! I am going to post some pictures later when she wakes from her nap.

Chris got out of the girls day, which is good since he is not a girl and if he went I could not call it a girls day! He took a 2 hour drive (1 way) to Warner Robbins and went to his son, Dakota's 6th birthday party. This was pretty cool for Chris because he has not seen Dakota since December (due to issues with his ex wife). Chris seemed to have a good time.

The pictures are not the best quality.... I still need to show Chris the different settings on the camera but they will do....

Ahh time to get something for dinner so we can hopefully get home before the Auburn-Tennessee Kickoff.... WAR EAGLE!!!!
