Rainy Saturday

Whew Saturday started out as a really rough day! Kennedi had one of those tantrums that I did not think was ever going to stop. She was at it for about an hour. I sure hope that she does not have too many like that (but I know she will). I am not looking forward to the next one!

Daddy was gone all day spending the day with Dakota in Macon. He had planned to do a few things with him but it seems like they soon feel apart. It was raining so the outdoor park idea was out. Then when they got to the Children's Museum it was closed for renovations. They met up with one of Chris' friends for lunch and then headed to a movie that Dakota wanted to see. Thankfully, I was spared from that movie, The Tooth Fairy. I have seen my share of bad movies lately!

Dakota gave Chris a picture frame with a picture in it. It was from the Doughnuts for Dad they had at school last week. Chris was not able to make it down this time, he got the call the night before while he was at work telling him about it. The three hour drive was not feasible with the work schedule he had that night and the next day. Hopefully next year he will know in advance.

Anyway, after Kennedi was done melting down we headed out to Monkey Joe's for the day. It just opened and I was hoping it would not be too crowded (on a rainy Saturday). When we got there it was great, the was a small crowd but nothing bad. When we left it was a different story! I cant wait to go back during the week when a lot of the kids are in school.

K did not know what to do at first but it didn't take her long to go have fun and play with the other kids her size.

Here she is approaching the dog with caution...

climbing up the ladder....

thinking about having to come down...

sliding down....

cracking up at the bottom! she LOVED it. I think she went back about 20 times and did the slide over and over.

I took a lot of pictures but when I went back to look at them it seemed like 90% of them was her going up and down the slide. I told you she liked it...

a little paint here and there....

Friday we woke up and let Daddy sleep in a little bit. He has been working some late nights and has been running errands with us during the day.

To keep K quiet I thought I would let her finger paint. She got some for Christmas so I decided to break it out. I got her all covered up in her bib and figured she would go to town. She is a toddler after all and they love to make messes right?

Well I guess as long as that mess is not all over her hands!! She does not like to have anything on her hands. When she eats, she wipes her hands if she has a crumb on them. Its actually amusing at times, well until you WANT her to get her hands messy by finger painting.

The finished masterpiece....

After clean up she was her cute self again!
its panda day!! K is actually signing to daddy. She wants more of something. This is the other hat that she will actually keep on for awhile.

Is it a boy? Is it a girl??

I headed down to see Chris at work today and he had the ultrasound right there. Of course we had to take a look just to see what we could see. I have had a lot of anxiety about doctors appointments, ultrasounds and all that comes with pregnancy after losing a baby.

When we got in there I did not want to see the screen until Chris saw that things were Ok. It did not take him long to say, "there's the heartbeat"... WHEW!!!

So I looked. I could see the flicker of the heart and I could see it moving its legs and arms all around. I have not felt any movement at all so it was wonderful to see it.

Chris looked at the spinal cord and from what he could tell everything looked good. Of course he is not sonographer (if that is even a word which I do not think it is) in real life, he just plays one with my belly. Then he tried so hard to get a good look around the baby's legs. Why would the baby cooperate?!?! Hard headed??? Wonder where it gets that from?? (the answer is Chris of course)

So we stop for a few minutes and try again. BINGO! Chris is 75% sure of what he did or did not see. I would tell you all but I think we will hold off for a week or so when we can get an official word. I guess I will hold off on either buying more pink or starting over with blue.

But.... this morning we went to breakfast and look at how cute Kennedi was in her new Briar.Claire hat. Is she not just to cutest?!?! She loves it!!

Anyway... that is all for tonight.. I'm really tired and going to head off to bed to maybe or maybe not think of some baby names.

end of a weekend....

and I have to say that I am glad to see some parts of the weekend come to an end!!!

Really it all started on Thursday when I got a call from Conner at school telling me he was not feeling well... so off to school I went! We got home with him and he was on the couch the rest of the day. Actually he fell asleep Thursday night about 10pm and slept until 1pm on Friday. WOW!

as soon as I got home from picking Conner up from school, I got a text from Chris who was at work saying that he was sick and that he was probably going to come home soon... and he did!! He walked through the door and off to bed he went.

We have 5 people in the house.... so that is 2 down.. so far...

Well 3 down really, Kennedi had been acting funny for a day or two and it would show in her diapers... ICK!!

I was feeling great... well until about midnight when it all hit me too.... it was not fun at all.. I thought I was going to die! I do not ever remember being that sick.

So... Friday morning I got Avery up for school since he was the only one not sick (and I really hope that he doesn't get it) and off he went. Poor kid got up, dressed, got his own breakfast and got himself out to the bus. He was wonderful!!

Then since we were all feeling bad I called Grandma to see if she wanted to keep her youngest grandchild for a little while.... hmmm nope... they were also hit with the bug. Wow what are those chances?? Crazy weekend!!

Of course this weekend we were supposed to celebrate Avery's 13th birthday and we had planned on taking him to Mid Evil times.... We were all so excited but had to postpone it until we were all feeling a lot better. I feel so bad!! We will have to make sure we get into the Lego Store while we are up at Mid Evil times.... only a few weeks and we are going.

I did not take any pictures this weekend. I figured that no one wanted to see what was going on in our house.. ha ha... Hope this week ends up being a lot healthier!!

That is how the weekend went. Today we finally all felt a lot better, well except for Kennedi, she is still having her dose of it. I hope it ends for her soon. I really am getting sick from changing her crib sheets every time she wakes up!

Maybe a not so Happy Birthday?!?!

I do believe that in the last post, you know the one about Avery's 13th birthday, I mentioned in it that there is never a dull moment with Avery around. Well, Sunday (the day after his birthday) he really proved this to be true!

I get a call from Conner from his dads house and first thing he says is, "uh mom, did Avery call you?" Hmmm nope Conner he hadn't. Now this is as I am imagining him on his way to the ER for yet another broken bone or more stitches. But whew, this time it was not that!

Instead, I got, "Well he chipped his two front teeth playing air soft."

Yup my head was spinning.., Airsoft? You don't catch the pellets in your mouth! Well at least a normal person wouldn't try. OK not that Avery tried.. because he didn't! But I guess his friend has really good aim (or really bad aim if he was shooting at something else).

Anyway, he DID have his goggles on but no mask. UGH! Oh well. So when I picked him up last night this is what I saw (OK actually these were taken this morning).

So first thing this morning I was calling the dentist and crossing my fingers that they could get him in.

Of course they could!! Our dentist is AWESOME!!

And... I did have Avery's permission to post the before pictures! He is such a trooper!!

So here we are heading out....

my poor baby and his teeth!

That pretty straight toothed smile!

Ahh here is one done.... OK story behind this one is that Avery really did ask me to let him leave only one fixed for a day or two so he could be funny and look like Lloyd from the movie Dumb and Dumber. That is Avery... he really does try to make the best of every situation!

Of course I said... ABSOLUTELY NOT!

and after the dentist was done...

We have that beautiful straight toothed smile once again!

I guess Avery will never forget his 13th birthday!

... another plus... while we were there they put my crown on for me since it was in. Now I have a free day tomorrow while Kennedi is in school and dont have to pay the dentist a visit!! YAY Dr. J... you are the best!!!
