2nd one for today...

I was able to take some pictures of Kennedi on her 11 month birthday. She can be such a ham at times and other times she just moves around or tries to attack the camera.

Look... I have teeth.... 6 teeth!!!

I used to take a picture of Kennedi every month sitting in the corner of her crib. Last month that was not a possibility so we graduated to the toy box. What a big girl!!!


... ahh ok now its time to clean up all my Tupperware containers/lids that are all over my kitchen. Oh yeah I forgot to mention that in her new thing of opening and closing doors she has discovered the tupperware cabinet.

Today is the 7th so that means....

KENNEDI IS 11 MONTHS OLD!!!

Today will probably consist of more than one post. I am up early and everyone else is still in bed so I thought I would write a little before they woke up.

I can't believe that Kennedi is 11 months already.

These days are gone.....


And these days have arrived!


I think it is completely amazing the transformation that takes place in such a short time. It really has flown! I look at her and really love the stage she is in right now, well most of the time at least, but I also really miss that little baby she used to be. Even the little baby she used to be when she did not sleep through the night.

She does so much now. She has been taking a lot of steps. Chris will say she is walking now but I still do not really consider it walking. The most she has taken at one time has been 12 steps. She even did some of those on uneven flooring. She went from the hardwood floor to the carpet. I am sure that once she sees two of her cousins walking around at the beach next week she is going to do it a little more.

She will also play with her toys a lot! She has these animals that her brother Dakota used to play with and she likes to hold them and try to figure out what they do. She will move the legs and then throw them (left handed most of the time). One of her favorite toys right now is her Fisher Price Activity Garden. This was a hand me down from Conner and Avery. Conner got this from Santa Clause for his 2nd Christmas. She loves to get the mail out of the mailbox and open and close the door to get in and out of the garden.

Closing doors is also one of her newer things. We have to keep doors closed all the time since she will go into a room, close the door and then sit in front of it so we can't open it to get her out. She is really amazing!

Well I hear a sweet little voice upstairs so I guess my time this morning is over. I will take some pictures and post them later....

A very full day!!

Let me start out by saying that I am EXHAUSTED!!! I was going to sit and write this last night but after we got home I was way too tired to do anything. I think we all were.

The alarm went off yesterday at 5:45 am and Chris and I got up and showered and dressed in our running clothes. Then I went down and got the boys up so they could do the same (minus the showers). Kennedi spent the night at Grandma and Papa's for the first time. She did great! On the drive to the Peachtree Road Race the boys were moody! I guess they were regretting singing up for this since they had to get up so early. But they went through with it.

We got on Marta (the first time that Chris has ever ridden it) and it was packed of course. Thankfully it was before the race and not after! And soon arrived at the Lenox Station where we would walk to our time group.

We all started out together and soon got separated. The boys did great. We were holding them back and so we told them to go on and meet up at the meeting place we talked about earlier (for weeks actually). Conner ran the whole 6.2 miles. I am so proud of him for that but also thinking how in the heck when he did not once go out and run to prepare for the race. He was actually the one we picked first to walk. Avery did great also. We told him with about a mile left to go ahead and he took off. I figured Conner was already done and Avery would find him and have someone to wait with. When we got to the meeting spot both kids were sitting there just waiting.

We got home and loaded up the car (I mean loaded). We had stuff for my sisters house and then a wedding to go to later so we brought everything with us. We spent a few hours at my sisters with family. The boys were having a blast and they were in the pool the whole time. Chris appeared to have a great time too. I looked over and there a little more beer in his cup each time so I guess he had a couple of refills. Chris rarely has beer so its fun to watch him partake in the festivities.

I forgot to bring my camera into the house so I got NO pictures of the fun that afternoon. It hit me later and I felt horrible since it was Kennedi's 1st July 4th celebration. Maybe my sister came though and took a few (I am crossing my fingers).

Chris and I left the boys with my sister and headed to the wedding with Kennedi (who had not had her afternoon nap). The wedding was very nice. We put Kennedi in the nursery so I was able to actually see what was going on! Kennedi does not yet realize that church is supposed to be a quiet place. She tries to talk to everyone she sees. Chris and I stayed at the reception for a little while but had to leave early due to a baby that had no afternoon nap, having to pick up the boys in the next town over and starting to get really really sore from running 6.2 miles just a few hours before. Oh let me just add that the groom also ran that same race but seemed to be perfectly fine all throughout the evening. I guess the fact that he is a good number of years younger than us has something to do with it. Oh to be young again!

We headed to my sisters to get the boys and packed up. It was a little early still so we stopped by my other sisters house to see the boys other cousin whom they had not seen in awhile. We got there before Ryan went to bed (thankfully) and the boys had a blast playing with him. They think he is such a cool kid. I really have to agree. He is just about 2 and getting to be really really fun to watch and talk to.

We left a little after nine and headed home. On the way we saw some fireworks being set off so we pulled into a parking lot and watched them. They were the fireworks that Peachtree City does every year. I was a little worried about how Kennedi would react since she was so tired and had never seen them before and she was wonderful. She watched them and was not scared for a second.

The boys did not want to get out of the car to watch the fireworks. We really did not need to, the view was perfect!

Avery loves to take pictures so he had the camera for most of the time. I dont get into many pictures so here is one of the few.

We watched for a few minutes and the boys got bored. I have to say they were pretty decent this year but they were not the best that I have seen. We headed out and hit the road in front of where they set them off just in time for the finale. That was pretty good!! We watched since all the cars in front of us were stopped (not due to traffic but due to the finale). When it was over we headed home. Traffic free!!

Ahhh the boys are still asleep and Kennedi slept until 9:45. Poor Chris had to get up and be at work at 8am but I have talked to him and he is doing just fine. A little stiff from running but I guess that is to be expected since he is almost 40 and this was his 1st 10K race in many many many many years.

I do have some pictures of the kids at the fireworks and will post them later. I have not put them on the computer yet.

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July and remembered all the men and women that have made it possible for us to celebrate (and to continue to celebrate) this fun holiday!!

Swimming...

We have been taking advantage of the sunny and hot weather and have been heading out to the pool each day. The boys groan about it some days and then when they get there and see they have friends there they love it and many days I have trouble getting them to leave. It's nice that they are older and I can leave them at the pool and come back later to pick them up.

Kennedi is even loving the pool now. She has a little friend she plays with a few times a week. M is a little less than 2 months younger than she is and they really are cute together. Kennedi loves the water. I figured she would since she loves to take a bath. Last week I stood her in the baby pool and she grabbed the side and stood there playing with toys. Every once in awhile she would let go and fall into the pool and grab the side again and stand up. She never cried or fussed.

Yesterday we went into the big pool without her float. She will sit and chill in her float for a long time. Yesterday I had her and she just splashed around and kicked her feet. When someone would splash her she would never cry. I decided to see what she would do if she went under. I thought it was about time, she is 10 months old.

I grabbed her hands and bobbed her up and down a few times and one bob I just put her all the way under. She came up and did not cough or cry. It was amazing! It was like she knew to close her mouth and she did it. Of course I had to do it again about 10 more times yesterday. While at the pool today I did it a few more times and it really did not seem to phase her at all. We are so lucky to have such a laid back and wonderful baby!!

I could not forget the boys. I was going to put some of their pictures on here from the pool also but none turned out good at all! Of course they have discovered the club house and that the food is better up there. I finally let them go up and get some lunch.

When we got home today I put Kennedi in for her 2nd nap and Conner and I had to run an errand. Avery was home with Kennedi in case she woke up. I get a call when we pulled back into the neighborhood and it was Avery saying....

Mom, Kennedi is asleep in her crib without a diaper on.

I thought he said with a diaper on and I was like... OK and you are calling to tell me she has a diaper on..

But he said no mom she does NOT have a diaper on...

Oh no! I told him we were in the neighborhood so stay out of her room and I would be there in a minute. I guess this is her latest thing. She took her diaper off for the first time last week.

Yes, I took the original picture off. I figured Kennedi would one day kill me for that picture. On top of that if her "protectors", AKA, her brother's ever saw it I would be in very big trouble!(Thank you Nancy for photoshopping that for me). Hmm maybe I should send some of my pictures to Nancy to photoshop (I really would love to look like a size 2).

ahhh the weekend!!

It takes so long for weekends to get here and when they do they go by way to fast! Chris was off yesterday so we had a date day. We have not left Kennedi behind to do something fun as a couple since the UGA vs Auburn football game the second weekend in November. I guess we were due!

It so happens that we were due on the weekend that Boston was in town playing the Braves! What a series!! Now I am a Braves fan but when the Orioles and Boston are in town I do pull for them. I guess growing up in Baltimore and going to Memorial Stadium and later Camden Yards will do that to you. The Boston liking I guess I get from my boys. They have been Red Sox fans since, well, birth. I guess their dad got to them before I did with baseball and got them really into the Red Sox.

We got up and dressed Kennedi into a really cute outfit! I have been waiting all summer for her to wear this outfit and it finally arrived!! Isn't she just too cute in her little Boston dress with that huge bow in her hair!! Yes, I do know the bow is as big as her head but hey, after having 2 boys I am loving that I can put them on her head!! I think she looks so old in this picture.

Here is our little cheerleader... This is about the only time she will be a cheerleader (we hope) unless its Halloween... I cant wait to sign her up for soccer and lacrosse and softball and swimming and whatever else she wants to try (but not too soon). But, for now we will let her be a cheerleader.

Chris and I got tickets for yesterdays game and of course he wore his Braves hat and I put on Avery's Red Sox hat. We went to lunch before hand at a sports bar in Atlanta that was very good. We were stuffed and ended up not eating dinner.

Turner Field was PACKED! There were more Red Sox fans there than Braves fans, which I guess is kinda sad but it was fun. Our seats were great and the usher (an older man) kept us very entertained. It was so hot the whole game... I had my first beer in a year and a half. I have to say it tasted very good!!

The game was pretty boring. I wanted to good close game but I also wanted some scoring. As you can see there was not much of that!

But we survived and the Red Sox came out on top. I was even a good fan and did not run it in to Chris after the game. I think it was just way too hot and I wanted to get into the jeep and the A/C.

Today the boys are going to the game with their dad and I hope they get to see a good game. I am sure they are decked out in their Boston jerseys and hats looking very cute!

I guess it is back to reality. Chris is back to work, I have cleaned the basement (well one room of it) and Kennedi is up in her crib sleeping soundly. The boys come home tonight and we will enjoy a week at the pool and mentally prepare to run the Peachtree Road Race on Saturday (a 10K through a part of Atlanta). Its so much fun and I hate every minute I am running it! It should be a lot better this year since it is not just me running but also Chris, Conner and Avery!! Whew!!
