Confirmation

Last night was Confirmation at our church. Thirty 10th graders were in the group and what a great group it is!

The Arch Bishop came down to confirm the kids and let me tell ya. This guy is amazing! I paid attention the entire mass. With my ADD that is a miraculous thing! He is Hilarious!!! The kids loved him and I am so happy that he was the one who Confirmed the C-man.

I did not get any pictures of him in his red gown. Hopefully the person they hired to take pictures got individual pics of the kids in their gown and, hopefully that picture turned out great!

Here are few that I did get... I also failed to get one of C and his grandparents (my parents). It would have also been nice to have gotten C with his other grandparents that were there and my parents but that did not happen either. But this is what I DO have.....

The only picture I have of C by himself. Actually it was not even by himself, he was in with me but there was a bad shadow over me so I cropped it out. Love the big smile and how he is NOT trying to act goofy. Another rare occasion for a good picture!

Typical family picture right now.... finger in the toddler's nose! Can't wait for that to pass!!

Here is a pretty decent one of C, Chris and myself.

Not too many of these exist in the world... C and me.

C with his Aunt and Godmother (my sister)

Here he is with the most hilarious man!! The archbishop!

After that the arch bishop called K over for a picture of her and her brother. It would have been cool to get a picture of C and all his sisters and brothers with him but none were to be found except this one. I love C HUGE smile in this picture!

It was a great Confirmation Day and a wonderful mass. Special thanks to C's awesome sponsor who we will call Ms. K. She is wonderful and so happy that C chose her to be his sponsor on this path to this special day.

Today was the day!!!

It is going to be a long week for both Conner and Mom (me). Today we sent Conner and 18 other teens from our church youth group off to Tennessee for a mission trip.

Conner will be working his tail off fixing up whatever is needed and I will be home hoping that he is having a great time and having his eyes opened at the same time. I do not think I have ever gone 5 days without talking to or texting him. I already cant wait to hear all about it when he gets home.

I am not going to write much more about it since I did post about it the other day, right here.

So, until he gets home, keep the group (teens and adults) in your prayers.

A big week!!

Not for me but for my oldest.... he and 17 other teens along with 5 adults are heading out on a mission trip.

I am so excited for him and he told me today that he was excited for Tuesday (when they leave). He has never done anything like this before and I cant wait until it is over and he comes home and tells me all about it.

They leave Tuesday and head about 2 hours north to work in a town where people are not as fortunate as we are. They will be staying in a school and working on homes, schools, churches (whatever they need to do). They will be doing yard work, painting, fixing and interacting with the people of the town. I really hope that they get to spend some time with kids and see how happy these kids are and how thankful they are for what little they have. I think that my teen (and many others) need to see how lucky they are for the things they have. I know that I spoil my kids and I really wish they saw all the extras we provide.

I think the hardest part is going to be that they can not take cell phones with them. I am not sure I have ever gone that long without talking or texting with him. Last night he and I were in the car and it hit him that I am due in 4 weeks and the baby can really come at any time. He really sounded upset when he told me that the baby would probably come while he was away and that he would not even be able to see a picture of her. Then he got on his phone and made sure the youth minister that was going was able to get picture messages on her phone. Whew... crisis averted.

So this week (Tuesday through Sunday), say a little (or a lot of) prayers for those kids and adults that will be on this trip.

Proud of you Conner for wanting to be a part of this!! I hope that you get every bit out of this trip as you want to!! I LOVE YOU!!!
