We finally got it!!!

SNOW!!!!

The long morning of waiting turned into an afternoon of snowfall. It was beautiful!

Snow in Georgia is a rare site so we like to take it in while we can. Usually it is a "here today, gone tomorrow" event. I think it may stick around a day or two this time.

A view from our house to the neighbors. These are the only neighbors we have... for now. They are building on the lot to the left of the neighbors.

We did have snow last year but Kennedi was too young to play it in remember? This year was a little different. I was bummed because the boys were at their dads house so Kennedi was playing alone. I am sure she would have liked to sled down the hill in the back with her brothers.

Daddy, What do I do with this?

Oh. I throw it...

Wee......

Kennedi makes her 1st snow angel....
She was so clueless and probably wondering, "what is daddy doing to me?"

But she was a trooper through it all and seemed to have a lot of fun.
ok Daddy... that is enough... pick me up!

The finished product....

and then a little later.... I found this, a little wardrobe malfunction!!

As I sit and wait for snow...

Ahh gotta love the south. We had the threat of snow for today. It was actually supposed to start by 9am... then they said 10am... then they said noon... guess what??? We have not seen a flurry!! Nope, nothing... and on top of it all, because of the "threat" of snow, they canceled school for today. Yup that is correct, no school and no snow!

So as i sit here in my kitchen, looking out the window and waiting patiently not so patiently for the snow I thought I would jot down some things that took place this week!

I think I mentioned this but I need to do it again...

CONNER MADE THE 9th GRADE BASEBALL TEAM!! I am so happy for him. I have to admit that I was a little worried. Many of these kids have played on travel teams that were very serious about baseball. Conner has always played in the local rec league coached by dads. I cant wait to see how he progresses with the coaching that he will now have!

Avery, well Ave is struggling in school at the moment. It is nothing that he cant correct but I think 7th grade is a challenge. We were supposed to have a conference with two of his teachers today but due to the cancellation of school (because of this threat of a blizzardan inch of snow) we did not have it. But Avery knows what he needs to do and he is getting it done!

Kennedi, she continues to be a mess. Stepping into those terrible two's and I am hoping stepping out quickly. I bought her a potty this week and was hoping that she would sit on it and just get used to the idea of having one. I do not expect the potty training thing to start for awhile. She is funny when she wants to "go potty". She will sign the potty sign to me and we head into the bathroom where she proceeds to take off ALL HER CLOTHES. Yup, she wants to be naked when she sits on the potty. Ugh what a chore!!

The other day I was sitting in there with her (no I was not on the potty but the floor) and I went upstairs to get a new diaper. When I left she had a red face so I figured she was messing with me. When I came back down she had used the potty!! I was so proud of her. She looked into it and saw what she did and got scared. Once she saw Conner and me clapping for her she got this look on her face of accomplishment. It was so cute.

I told Conner to get my phone and his exact words were, "mom, you are not going to take a picture of that"....

um.. of course I am, if I don't send it to Chris he would never believe that she pooped on the potty!! DUH! Don't worry, I am not posting the picture on here.

Since then, nothing but stripping down and sitting on the potty.

On a sad note, one of our dogs is not doing so well. Poor boy is only 6 but has never been very healthy. He is not able to stand up by himself in the mornings and spends most of the day laying there. I hate to look at his deep brown eyes and try to figure out what they are telling me. I am hoping that one morning I am going to go downstairs to let them out and he is going to pop up like he used to but I am not sure it is going to happen.

Ahh what a week it has been!!

Hopefully I will have some pictures later, I sure would like to see Kennedi play in a little bit of snow!!

1st snow day of 2010...

...and probably the last! So sad. But there is some humor in today.. keep on reading to the very very end!

Yes, school was canceled today for the dusting that we had last night. I am not going to complain, I will take a snow day, ice day, hurricane day, whatever day you want to call it as long as we can sleep in.

Here in the south there is a panic if the threat of a few flurries are mentioned. It is understandable since we have like 4 plows for the entire city of Atlanta. Yes, that was mentioned on the news. It really does paralyze the city.

Oh did I mention about sleeping in? Well the thought was there but at 5:30am the phone rang. I have to admit that it scared the S*** out of me! Having parents that are getting up there in age, a husband that at times doesn't get home from work until 3am you do not want to hear the phone ring in what seems like the middle of the night. So I answer the phone and it is a recording from the school system saying that the schools are closed. Gee I think I got that memo last night! Oh and the news stations carry it, the internet carries it. There are many ways to get that memo besides calling everyones houses at 5:30am! So today was an early day for me!

Well, there was the dusting of snow. It was so little that I did not even take a picture of it. I figure my friends from Maryland would laugh and say something smart (its ok if you do). The boys were not even interested in going out to "play" in it. Thankfully Kennedi is still too young to know what it is so I was spared the cold.

Oh but my gifted child... ahh so smart... He wanted to go check the roads. Now any child with common sense would have gone to the 2nd floor and looked out the window. My child, well he decided to go out and actually go up to the road to look. Not a big deal right? Well when we walked out the door into the garage he had a short sleeve shirt on and no shoes. I have no idea what he was thinking, or if they even think at 15.

Avery is now at a friends house for the night so I guess I get a little bit of quiet. I am sure that I am soon to have my head hit the pillow.

Well I do have to mention this.... since I was just talking about my gifted 15 year old. Brains and common sense, I guess you can not have both! Conner actually chagned a diaper for me today. It was a messy one too. Ok he did not volunteer but he did not complain. So Kennedi is walking around in her sleeper from last night. Ok, so I just spilled the beans about not getting out of our pj's all day.

Anyway, back to my diaper story. So she was in this diaper for maybe 2 hours. I picked her up to take her upstairs to get clean jammies on. At least I was putting her in clean ones for tonight. I was kinda curious why her sleeper was a little damp. Then when I lay her down I notice this bulge in the foot of her sleeper.

Yup, it was her diaper. I have no idea what Conner did, or didnt do when he put on the diaper. I mean Velcro.. come on! But the diaper was down in the foot of her pjs. How could I not laugh, and then call Conner up to show him how his diapering techniques failed!!

Whew never a dull moment in this house! I wonder what tomorrow will bring. I hope it brings some clear roads so I can go to the grocery store. We are out of milk!
