more baseball

I feel like there have been so many baseball posts in the past few weeks. I guess when your son is in the middle (or end) of his season this tends to happen.

Conner finished up his rec league season this week. Wednesday was the big game we were all waiting for. Unfortunately, we lost... we had a few errors that game and of course when you make too many of those you are not going to win. Oh well. It was a tough loss but you got to get over that quickly and focus on the next thing.

And that next thing is more baseball!!

Conner's rec team entered into a tournament this weekend in the town next to us. We have a game Friday night (tonight) at 8:30 and then again Saturday night at 7:00. From there it will depend on how we do in these two game. I have not looked at the brackets to see Sunday's possibilities. I am excited to go watch these games. I like to play against teams that we do not play against in the league. We get to see what else is out there. The bad part of that is that many of the teams we face are tournament teams where most of the time there are try outs and they choose the best kids. Other times they are all star teams where once again they have the top kids. Our team is a rec team that played together all season so that kinda makes each win a little better!!

After this weekend it is still not clear if the team is going to states or not. At one point we were and then I heard we were not. I guess it will be a last minute things. After states usually the season is over.... but not for Conner!!!

Conner has decided to play on a tournament team through the summer and fall. Yes, you got it... this means we get to spend many weekends at different tournaments. This also means more baseball posts throughout the summer and fall!!

So... this is not near the last ball post of the season but only the beginning!!

10 months old already and some ball!

I can't believe it. It does not seem like 10 months ago when I was sitting in a classroom and realized that I needed to call my doctor. Then only about an hour after that I was laying in a hospital bed waiting for my labor to start. When it started it really started!! Only 4 hours later Miss. Kennedi was here!! What a great day!! She is a wonderful baby... hmm maybe that is why she will be a big sister in a few months (well 6 actually). I just hope the next one is as good as she is. I have been so lucky so far to have 3 really good babies. I just hope that I am not pressing my luck now!!

This week is going to be a crazy one! Avery is heading to Florida tomorrow to see his grandparents on his dads side. He will be there for the week having fun and getting spoiled I am sure.

Conner on the other hand will be here in Newnan with his dad. This is Conner's last week of rec league baseball. I remember when he was in t-ball and we had to drive past the 13-14 field each week. I always thought how exciting it was to watch those older boys. They knew baseball and the plays were just automatic. I thought that it was going to be forever before Conner got to that stage. Well forever is here and it really was not that long, in fact it was not long enough! I feel like he was just in that purple diamondback uniform, hitting the ball and it barely going two feet, and still being able to turn it into a home run. Not because he was an exceptional player at that age but because that was t-ball, where every hit ends up being a home run! I guess I blinked because now its the last week of 13-14 for him. Next year it will be the 9th grade high school team (hopefully). WOW, gotta get some kleenex.

Ok back to baseball without the sappy tears. HUGE game this week for Conner!! The Nationals vs Angels. This is the biggest game of the season, not becuase its a 1st place spot for us if we win but instead we knock the Angels out of 1st if we win. Yes, it would be wonderful if we were the ones who ended up in first but with 3 losses (only 3 losses) we are not in contention for that spot. But that is ok, knocking them out of 1st is almost as good!! 8pm on Wednesday at Andrew Bailey is any of you are close by!! After that we head into a weekend of tournament games followed by a couple more weekends of tournament ball. Ahh Gotta love summer!!
