It's just another Saturday on the homefront

Ahh it is here once again! The rain I mean, well, it not here at the moment but earlier tonight it was. One road in my neighborhood was flooded when we came home from running an errand but other than that it really was not too bad, at least nothing compared to last weekend.

Now I am sitting home watching the Auburn game on TV. The boys decided they did not want to go to the game today. With it being a late game and the rain that was supposed to come in they decided the other day. I was a little bummed but at the same time OK with it. Chris had to work today so it would have been just the boys and I. It would have been a late drive home since it was a 6PM CT game and then ended up being delayed 30 minutes (again) because of rain. If we went it would have been another 2am night. Good Call kids!!!

Today was an easy sports day. With Conner's tournament being cancelled due to the rains last weekend we only had Avery's lacrosse game to go to. Avery played great! His team won 14-8 (I think it was) and of course Avery played defense. He loves it back there because, in his terms, "I can lay people out". Hey.. whatever it takes!! The boy is not even 70 lbs soaking wet and will take out boys twice his size.

Well I guess that is about all, I need to go out and pick up Conner from a friends house (at halftime) and then I am home for the night. Conner seems to never be home anymore. Friday nights he is at the football games and then Saturdays he is often over a friends house (or friends are here). I cant wait to get the basement finished so they will have a great place to go and hang out. We just need to sell that other house... any buyers out there?!?!

Have a great night, what is left of it!!

WAR EAGLE!! (now that I can say that since we are playing decent). You would not want to see or hear what I was saying a little earlier in the game!!

a day in the park between rainstorms

Ahh finally some beautiful weather! I just hope it is not short lived.

As many of you know (because you live here), the Atlanta weather has been CRAZY! There was a lot of flooding and destruction last weekend. I do not remember it ever being as bad as it was. Thankfully it was not bad where we live. We did get a lot of rain but we were spared the flooding. Since the rain stopped the weather has been wonderful!!

We have been looking for a nice park to take K to for awhile now. Since she is walking all over I figure its time to get her out and let her have some fun. It took awhile but we found a park a town over. Its a pretty nice park, the floor is rubber so she can fall (which she has done many times) and she does not end up hurt or dirty!!

She LOVES to swing and slide. The first day we went it was just the two of us. It was hard to get pictures and take care of her running around so I did not get many. The next day (yesterday) Chris suggested we go before he had to head into work. It was a great idea. Kennedi had so much fun!!

See....

Mommy... Daddy, I like these ducks... well as long as they stay on that side of the fence!

Daddy you hold me so those ducks cant get me!

First time on the slide all by myself!! She slid from the top to the bottom and LOVED it!

I love swings!!!

WEEEEEEEEEE!!!

I guess this is going to be a relaxing weekend. Conner's baseball tournament was called due to the fields being flooded (or very very wet) and we are still waiting to hear about Avery's game. Cross your fingers for us that we will at least get that one in since he missed his game last week due to the swine!! Hmm maybe it will be a day in front of the TV enjoying some college football.

And now we sit and prepare for more rain. Yes that is correct despite the blue, partly cloudy skies today we are now under a flash flood warning until 5am on Sunday. So I guess we should be saying, "here comes the rain again"

It was a wet one

Yes it really was!

No I am no talking about Kennedi's diapers or the new kisses she has learned to give. Although they are both pretty wet most of the time.

I am talking about the Saturday (yesterday) that Chris and I spent out in the pouring rain, thunder and lightning over at Jordan Hare Stadium (Pat Dye Field) watching our my very favorite Auburn Tigers take on those not so favorite West Virginia Mountaineers.

As many if you know, Chris and I have Auburn season tickets. Chris is not getting closer to being an Auburn fan and I most definitely am a fan. Well I am a fan when they are not playing like the other thing often in Kennedi's wet diaper. When that is the case I am still a fan but a not so happy one.

The way they played last night is another post in itself so I will stick to the topic. Yes, it rained, and rained, thunder and lightninged (if that is a word), and rained more and the wind blew. Actually at one point I was thinking that maybe there was a pop up hurricane in the middle of Alabama. It was crazy to say the least. The stadium was evacuated, well they made an announcement to leave the seating area, but no one could go anywhere. I think they need to really rethink their evacuation plan for severe weather.

After a little bit of a weather delay the game was finally able to start. Of course it was a 645pm game Central time! Whew late game already and then even later. Those are rough!

So the game starts and we (meaning Auburn) look like that stuff in Kennedi's diaper for awhile, actually most of the game. It's a good thing that our defense could catch last night (yes I said defense and catch together) because they really could not tackle. We did end up winning but it was not looking promising for a good amount of the time.

I wanted to take a bunch of pictures at the game since we do not know how many more we will be able to make with Conner's baseball schedule, Avery's lacrosse schedule and Chris' work schedule but that was put on the back burner since I wanted to be able to use my camera again for the other activities mentioned above.

It was a fun, but frustrating, day and game. We made it home in the wee hours of the morning but still in time for Chris to get a few hours of sleep before leaving for a 12 hour shift in the ER. As for me, I am home with Kennedi getting lots of the newly learned kisses and changing many many of those wet diapers, wanting a much needed nap (me not kennedi) and of course not getting that. Now it is almost time to pick up the boys from their dads and count down the minutes hours until bedtime when I will be able to catch up on some of that rest!

On another note, Avery is feeling much much better from his bout with the piggy H1N1 virus that he cough last week. I think it maybe school time again for him tomorrow. Lucky Avery escapes the H1N1 vaccine when it comes out next month.
