Just a reminder, if you click on the picture it comes up bigger.
I guess when you hit high school you are still not too old to trick or treat! Conner and some of his buddies decided to head out for some Halloween fun. I told Conner that he could still trick or treat IF he had a costume. I hate when kids get older and go out for some candy and don't dress up. Looks like he followed my rules.
The Fruit of the Loom Guys! Conner is the orange... the other guys are guys he has been friends with since early on in elementary school.
1st stop for Kennedi was Grandma and Papa's house (before the rain came).
She was not to sure about this Halloween thing!
Kennedi was very happy that Daddy was off and could go with us. I think Daddy was thrilled too!
It did not take her long to figure it out
She was a pro by house #2. She would not let go of her bucket and she stood there while they gave her candy. Sometimes even after they gave her the candy. There were even houses that gave her candy and then let her grab some. I am sure they thought she would grab just 1 but they were wrong. She would take a handful.
Ding dong.... trick or treat.
Kennedi and Mommy
The last house.... ours! Trick or Treat, Avery!
Avery and Kennedi
She went from Garden Gnome to Victoria Secret model.... Kennedi that is!
It was a fun night! Kennedi went to about 15 houses and got a bucketful of candy. She was so cute! She did not get that we were supposed to leave after they gave her some candy. She wanted to stay and chat for a little while.
Avery was the big boy this year. He said early on that he wanted to stay home and give out candy. He was the smart one actually since it rained the whole time. There were a ton of kids in the neighborhood but we live so far back and there are not too many houses on our road that we only had 2 kids come by. Hmmm guess we will be eating some candy for awhile!
I hope that everyone had a great time trick or treating.... can't wait to do it again next year!!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Coupons... coupns and more coupons!
I have been a player in the coupon game for awhile now. With having a 2nd house that wont sell because the market stinks and one income (not that my income was worth anything, school systems don't pay that great) we need to cut corners anywhere we can. I actually sat down and found some blogs that are great for saving money with coupons. I am lazy and do not want to have to look for the deals, I want them to be listed for me. Well I think my short attention span probably has something to do with that too. Well, I found some great ones... The one I used this week was Southern Savers.
This blog is great! It lists a bunch of stores and their deals. I actually switched grocery stores this week just to see the difference. I think I saw a huge one and just may be one to switch stores as my main store.
I read about these people that buy like $100.00 worth of groceries and only spend like $20.00. I do not understand how that is possible if they are buying meats and milk, or if they only go shopping like once a week. It sure would be nice if I could figure that out but with 2 teenage boys (or close to it), a husband and a child in diapers I do not see it happening. I only go to the store 2 times a month to get my major things and then I pop in to get milk and eggs here and there. We have been going though about 4 gallons of milk a week with the boys here. Now I have one that wants to start on the protein shakes and I am sure that will increase.
Anyway, I went to the store yesterday and paid $120.00 for all of my groceries but the kicker was that I saved $90.00. I was amazed! I have food for the week for the kids to snack on, dinner items and even snacks for the big games on this weekend. Since the Auburn game is an early one and Avery has a lacrosse game, we are not going to Auburn. Because of that I had to have extra snacks in the house. Oh yeah, I even bought a TON of Halloween candy. Well I just wanted to share the excitement.
Wow it is really sad when I get excited about what I save at a grocery store!

Stellan is 1 Today!
For those of you that do not already follow MckMama and her blog, take a few minutes and click here. What an amazing baby he is! He has gone though more in his first year of life than many of us go through our entire lives. For a baby that was not even thought to have survived outside of his mama, he has come a long way!
Sadly, Stellan is spending his 1st birthday in the hospital. Not what they planned at all of course but his stubborn SVT just did not cooperate.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY STELLAN!!!

And the light (or glasses) goes (go) on...
Have I ever stated that there is never a dull moment in our house? If not I am telling y'all now! Not with my older two around. Whew some of the things they come up with!
I really need to keep a log of things they say because I think it gets better and better each day. Much of what they say I would not be able to put on here (they have some doozies) but most are funny.
Lets take tonight as an example. I really hope that I can get this across in the blog as funny as this conversation really was. I know I wont be able to but I am going to try my best!
A little background... Conner was standing behind me reading the computer screen (this is a pet peeve of mine but a different post in itself) and some of what he was saying made no sense at all.
Me: Conner, go up and get your glasses (so he did, these are glasses that he got A YEAR AGO and has NEVER worn).
Conner: (puts on the glasses)... WHOA I can see so much better with these! (DUH)
(do we see the light bulb turning on).
So... Conner proceeds to look at different things, take the glasses off, put the glasses on, steps back a little further. Looks at the same thing, takes the glasses off, puts them back on, steps back a little more. This went on for a good 30 minutes.
If you could only see his face and the amazement of how well the glasses work!
Then he proceeds to say... Mom, I cant wear these in school because I look like a nerd.
(now I start beating my head on the table)
He continues to ask me..... Can we go and get contacts?
So I am thinking... sure kid! Let hop in the car and just go get them now. I have a couple hundred bucks in my pocket to blow on something that I have no idea you will wear! Especially after we spend a couple hundred dollars on some glasses that have been sitting in the case, in your top drawer since the day we got them.
I am so frustrated with this kid. I guess he really can't see well without them and still wont wear them. I know most of you are saying... well take him to get contacts. I probably will do this but I really would like him to show me he will wear the contacts by wearing his glasses.
Oh... and then he comes around and says... I wonder if these would help me with baseball.
.. hmm... no Conner, they only help during the hours of 8:30 and 3:30. UGH.. Where did this kid get his common sense??
