We finally got it!!!

SNOW!!!!

The long morning of waiting turned into an afternoon of snowfall. It was beautiful!

Snow in Georgia is a rare site so we like to take it in while we can. Usually it is a "here today, gone tomorrow" event. I think it may stick around a day or two this time.

A view from our house to the neighbors. These are the only neighbors we have... for now. They are building on the lot to the left of the neighbors.

We did have snow last year but Kennedi was too young to play it in remember? This year was a little different. I was bummed because the boys were at their dads house so Kennedi was playing alone. I am sure she would have liked to sled down the hill in the back with her brothers.

Daddy, What do I do with this?

Oh. I throw it...

Wee......

Kennedi makes her 1st snow angel....
She was so clueless and probably wondering, "what is daddy doing to me?"

But she was a trooper through it all and seemed to have a lot of fun.
ok Daddy... that is enough... pick me up!

The finished product....

and then a little later.... I found this, a little wardrobe malfunction!!

As I sit and wait for snow...

Ahh gotta love the south. We had the threat of snow for today. It was actually supposed to start by 9am... then they said 10am... then they said noon... guess what??? We have not seen a flurry!! Nope, nothing... and on top of it all, because of the "threat" of snow, they canceled school for today. Yup that is correct, no school and no snow!

So as i sit here in my kitchen, looking out the window and waiting patiently not so patiently for the snow I thought I would jot down some things that took place this week!

I think I mentioned this but I need to do it again...

CONNER MADE THE 9th GRADE BASEBALL TEAM!! I am so happy for him. I have to admit that I was a little worried. Many of these kids have played on travel teams that were very serious about baseball. Conner has always played in the local rec league coached by dads. I cant wait to see how he progresses with the coaching that he will now have!

Avery, well Ave is struggling in school at the moment. It is nothing that he cant correct but I think 7th grade is a challenge. We were supposed to have a conference with two of his teachers today but due to the cancellation of school (because of this threat of a blizzardan inch of snow) we did not have it. But Avery knows what he needs to do and he is getting it done!

Kennedi, she continues to be a mess. Stepping into those terrible two's and I am hoping stepping out quickly. I bought her a potty this week and was hoping that she would sit on it and just get used to the idea of having one. I do not expect the potty training thing to start for awhile. She is funny when she wants to "go potty". She will sign the potty sign to me and we head into the bathroom where she proceeds to take off ALL HER CLOTHES. Yup, she wants to be naked when she sits on the potty. Ugh what a chore!!

The other day I was sitting in there with her (no I was not on the potty but the floor) and I went upstairs to get a new diaper. When I left she had a red face so I figured she was messing with me. When I came back down she had used the potty!! I was so proud of her. She looked into it and saw what she did and got scared. Once she saw Conner and me clapping for her she got this look on her face of accomplishment. It was so cute.

I told Conner to get my phone and his exact words were, "mom, you are not going to take a picture of that"....

um.. of course I am, if I don't send it to Chris he would never believe that she pooped on the potty!! DUH! Don't worry, I am not posting the picture on here.

Since then, nothing but stripping down and sitting on the potty.

On a sad note, one of our dogs is not doing so well. Poor boy is only 6 but has never been very healthy. He is not able to stand up by himself in the mornings and spends most of the day laying there. I hate to look at his deep brown eyes and try to figure out what they are telling me. I am hoping that one morning I am going to go downstairs to let them out and he is going to pop up like he used to but I am not sure it is going to happen.

Ahh what a week it has been!!

Hopefully I will have some pictures later, I sure would like to see Kennedi play in a little bit of snow!!

18 month check....

Kennedi and I went to the pediatrician yesterday morning for her 18 month check. Chris had to miss it because of work. This is the 1st appointment Chris has missed and I think it really bothered him.

She has a great memory. She has not been there since her 15 month check and as soon as she saw the nurse she grabbed on to me. I guess she knew then that she would be getting shots!

She got 2 shots and was a little trooper... of course she screamed and screamed but it did not last long. The best part is that she is done with her shots until her 4th birthday!! YAY!!

I do not remember exactly her stats but...
Length was 33in
weight was 23 lbs

The weight was not very accurate because of her freaking out at the site on the nurse. She was trying to get off the scale the whole time she was on it!

Congratulations Conner!!

All the hard work and years of practice and games have paid off! Conner made the high school 9th grade baseball team!

All the early years when he was this little....

and we didn't know where it would lead....

and then he grew up to this...

I have to admit that I was VERY nervous... so nervous that I really have not slept since last Sunday, the day before try-outs started! There were so many talented boys trying out and Conner has never been in this position before.

It is wonderful that he gets to play for a baseball program that won state last spring. The coaches that lead the team and wonderful and I can't wait to see how much Conner will develop as a player under their instruction!!

CONGRATULATIONS CONNER!!!

GO VIKINGS!!!

18 months old today!!

Today K is 18 months old! She is getting so big and doing new things everyday. I just bought her a potty. She will sit on it (with pants on) but once the diaper is off she does not want much to do with it. I figured this would happen since she is still young, but hey, I can dream about not having 2 in diapers can't I?

This past week, Chris and I took the two big boys to see The Black Eyed Peas in Atlanta. It was a great concert... more on that later.. but while we went, Kennedi stayed at Grandma and Papa's house. Can you believe I let her stay overnight?!?! She did great. We left the video camera with my parents in case she did anything cute. She is always doing something cute so I knew that there would be something on the camera when we got back...

Mom caught Kennedi climbing up on the chair to get the computer. She was so cute. I guess she is starting early on paying the bills...

Just a quick video....

A few days ago I took Kennedi to Monkey Joe's (yes.. again). we have been twice in the 1 week it has been open. Kennedi seemed to have a great time but she is only good for about an hour or so and gets worn out (my plan works).

Chris met us over there before he had to head off to work and he was able to enjoy some of the slides with K. It was so cute. The first time they went down together and she loved it. When they were at the bottom Chris told me that she almost went down by herself. K wanted to do it again and this is what happened.......

I guess the only bad things about this is now she wants nothing to do with the little slide in the toddler area. She is all about the big stuff. I guess I am going to have to start to make sure Avery is with us when we go. He can "help" Kennedi on the inflatables and have some fun himself.
