cute video

I saw Kennedi climb into her toy box a little while ago. I took her our and grabbed my phone to try to get her climbing in again.... Well of course she would not do it but instead she did this....

It was quite funny when it happened.

I also got a call from the doctors office today. I have to go back next week to repeat my lab work....

Another big first today!!!

I had my follow up doctors appointment today from the events of last week. It went as good as it could I suppose. They took blood to see if my pregnancy hormone levels were down and then to check the blood count. I will get the results tomorrow afternoon. The doctor told me to stay on pre-natal vitamins in case we wanted to try again soon (something we have not really talked about at this point). But other than that I guess I am good to go unless the levels are not down and I think I will have to go back to get more blood drawn in a week or so.

That was not the first that I was talking about. While I was at the doctor I left the boys home with Kennedi. I put her to bed right before I left and I was hoping that she would sleep the whole time I was gone. Well... no such luck. I knew the boys would be fine with her but I was still really nervous. Avery has changed her dirty diapers before but not without gagging (a lot) and Conner will not go near a diaper (dirty or just wet). Well that was until today. Conner texted me to let me know that she was awake and I replied for him to change her diaper and play with her. He was good with that. I then asked if it was a dirty diaper or a wet diaper. Haha... he told me it was dirty and then I said ok and Avery changed it... haha again.... nope.. Conner did!!!

Conner changed his very first dirty diaper (well not his diaper but Kennedi's)!!!!

Come to find out that Avery tried to change it and gagged so much that Conner had to take over. I am so proud of him!! Hmm I guess that I can start to leave him home with Kennedi a little more often..... nah!!!

A day of firsts!!!

Wow what a day yesterday was. Chris was off of work so he and I took the boys to six flags for an almost family day. Kennedi ended up staying at grandma and papa's house for some of the day.

Usually when we go to six flags, or any other amusement park, it is Chris, Conner and I riding rides, Avery staying in line with us only to walk through and wait at the exit. After getting off the ride the next few minutes usually consists of Conner being horrible to Avery about how he is too scared to ride anything and that it was a waste for him to come. Well that all changed this year (and yesterday for much of the rides). Two weeks ago when Chris took the boys to six flags Avery decided to ride a roller coater he had never ridden. At six flags there was only one other coaster he would ride (the mind bender). They got in line for the Georgia Cyclone (an old wooden coaster for those of you who do not get to go to six flags) and when they got off the ride I got a call from Avery telling me he rode it, but not sure he liked it because it was rough. I thought that I would get calls from time to time telling me he rode more than that coaster but nope... no calls.

As I said we took the boys back yesterday and I was shocked!! Avery rode every roller coaster we did. The only one we did not ride was Goliath. We had all (but Avery) ridden this many times and did not want to wait in the line for it. We HATE lines!! Most of the other rides we walked right on, or waited 15 minutes or less. Avery said he would not ride that one from the start so I was ok with skipping that. It was so nice to have Avery ride all the roller coasters with us and to have Conner not badger him about being scared. It made for a much less than normal stress level for one of our outings. Now there was still stress, how can there not be when Conner and Avery are together. Typical brothers!!!!! I think that by the end of the season Avery will try Goliath but we won't push it!

Another first for yesterday is that Kennedi took a step. Oh help me!! I was holding her and she was standing facing daddy. Daddy put his arms out and she stepped our of my hands and into his arms about a foot away. After the step she dropped to her knees and of course when we tried to get her to do it again she decided to play that she had rubber legs. That was another funny site!! Never thought that at 10 months she would be taking a step here and there. I kinda hope that she does not realize it is much easier than crawling (for a little while at least).

Kennedi has also gotten another tooth... she now has 4 teeth total, 3 bottom and 1 top. There also appears to be another bottom tooth trying to pop through. Maybe in a few days she will have one more!!

June 11, 2009

Well I guess having a blog means that I get to blog about all the good things with the family, especially the kids. On the other side I guess I have to blog from time to time about the not so good things with the family and kids. Thursday, June 11, I had my initial doctor’s appointment at the ob’s office. We went in, spent an hour going over insurance and medical history... you know all that boring stuff. We were to be there at 8:30am to do that with a 10am appointment with the doctor. We were seeing Dr. B (probably my favorite doctor in the group), she was the doctor that delivered Kennedi just 10 months ago. We had to go back into the waiting room for a little while because she was at the hospital but would be back at the office shortly.

Dr. B arrived and they called Chris and I back. We go back to get the initial pre natal exam. Dr. B gets the Doppler and listens for the heartbeat... she was not able to find one and got another Doppler machine since the last one had a lot of static. The one she got was not any better so she did the exam and then took us for the ultrasound. During the exam she said my uterus was a little smaller than what she thought it should be. We were in the ultrasound and Dr. Banks could not find a heart beat but she said that the lady that does the ultra sounds were off today and since it was only 13 weeks she didn’t want to make any calls so she sent us down the road to have another ultrasound. The place we needed to go was maybe 5 miles down the road but it seemed like it was much more. For the first time in my life I felt like Chris was actually driving really slowly (when I know he wasn’t).

Waiting in the waiting room seemed like it was forever. Deep down I think we both knew how this was all going to turn out. I had a feeling since early on that this baby was not going to be like the other three. I did not know if it was because I had 3 healthy kids with no complications and I felt like I was pressing my luck or if it was because I realized how many sick babies there are out there and since I had 3 healthy babies then maybe I was pressing my luck.

Anyway, we were called back and they did two ultrasounds. The second one they monitored me for 5 minutes and saw no heartbeat and no blood flow. I could tell by the look on Chris’ face that it was not good (I was not able to see the monitor, thankfully). The radiologist came in and took a look and then confirmed what we already knew. He then told us that it had happened around 8 weeks (about 5 weeks ago).

Chris and I drove home to spend the day with Kennedi. Thankfully we had her to spend time with to get our minds off of what was going on a little bit. The boys were at their dad’s house for all this and had no idea what was going on. Conner had a baseball tournament all weekend and I did want this fresh on his mind while he was playing. Unfortunately, the tournament did not go too well for his team. But there are more tournaments coming up. I waited until I picked them up tonight to tell them. They handled it better than I thought they would. I have to say they are two amazing kids!!

Of course we will never know why this happened but I guess there are reasons for everything. I do know the kids now have their littlest brother or sister watching over them all the time!

quick tournament update

I have a few minutes (hopefully a few hours) of quiet time. I woke up and cant get back to sleep, Chris just left for work for his 9-7 shift today and Kennedi is asleep (boys are at their dads house until later today).

Conner's team finished up the pool games last night. Its been a late two nights at the ball park for Kennedi. Friday night we got home at 11pm and got Kennedi into bed. Thankfully she slept until 10am on Saturday. Friday night was a great game!! We played a team from Home Plate (a tournament team from the next town over) and we beat them in the last inning 8-7. Ahh what a wonderful ending it was. Conner was up to bat, a runner on base (maybe two I don't remember), with a score of 7-7. I hate this situation but Conner loves it!! I think there was only 1 out so I was not as nervous as I am with two outs. Conner nails the ball to the outfield and gets a walk off triple. We won 8-7. We were playing on a high school field and so it was pretty cool to see the boys on a field they will be on next year. They adjusted very well from the rec distance to the high school distance. It was amazing to see that happen. I was worried when I realized it was a bigger field but it did not bother the boys at all. They all looked like that had been playing on it all season. All the boys played a pretty good game. Conner caught and played 2nd and had a couple great plays at the plate.

We did not have to play until 7pm last night so it was nice to have a free day. Chris and I drove down to Lagrange to pick up my new van... yes we did it (finally)!! We made the move from a car to a van. We realized while driving to the beach for spring break that we needed something bigger with 3 kids. The boys were a little cramped in the Jeep with a car seat in the back. So we decided at that time that we would start to look for something bigger. I was not thrilled with the idea of a mini van but I have to admit that after driving it for a day I really like it. The room is amazing and it is so much easier to get Kennedi in and out of her car seat. Plus the added DVD player came in handy last night when Kennedi got tired at the game and she was able to watch a movie and calm down.

Last nights game did not turn out the way we wanted it to. Conner played 2nd, left field and caught. I was taking some pictures and would have had some great shots of one of his plays but stopped the button right before it happened so I could watch it. I always seem to miss the good stuff with the camera! We lost 7-3. It was an ok game but not as good as the night before. We were losing 7-1 in the last inninng and Conner was up. Of course it was 2 outs again. Why is it always my child (or just seems to be). Conner had a good hit to the outfield that scored two. That made it 7-3. We head out there again today for an 11am game. We are the number 4 seed... If we play well we have a chance of playing 3 games today... I did take pictures last night but I am just too tired right now to get up to get the camera and load them. I will add some to the post later today.

I will post later to update the rest of the tournament. For those of yall that can, have a great and relaxing Sunday.
