Last Baseball Post... and other things....

.... I should say last baseball post for about a month. We have no tournaments scheduled in July and will start up again in August. YAY!!! I have to say that I am excited to start with this tournament team. I hope the boys have a lot of fun while staying in the swing of things for their high school tryouts in the spring (or late winter).

Conner's team lost their game last night which ended our season. It was sad because it was the last season in rec ball but it was wonderful because it was our last season in rec ball!! Now on to more exciting play! Now on to buying a new bat for Conner so he can get used to the -3 bat (since that is what they have to use in high school).

Now on to the "other things". I had more blood drawn at the doctors today. They have to keep checking the HCG (i think it is) level and follow it down to 2. Last week it was 202 so I am hoping that it will be about 50 or less this week. I was told that it drops in half about every 3 days or so, sometimes a lot quicker. I have to wait until Monday to get those results but I already have my appointment for next Thursday in case the levels were not low enough this week. I have to say that I cant wait until this part is over!!

I guess that is about all for now. Kennedi is taking a nice long nap today and I am trying to get some things done in the house before the beach trip in two weeks. YAY!! Only 2 weeks until we have some relaxation.... oh wait, there will be no relaxing this year we have a 10 month old! What was I thinking?!?!

Another tooth!!

... that brings the total to 5. We have four on the bottom and 1 on top. I don't think it will be too long until we have a 2nd tooth up top. I cant get a good picture of her smiling to where all the teeth are shown but I got this one of the bottoms....

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!! ..and yet again, more baseball...

While everyone in the house is sleeping I thought that I would take a few minutes to wish all the dads out there a great day!

Conner and Avery go to their dads at 8am today. Yes it is a little early to wake up in the summer but I asked them both numerous times yesterday and Friday if they wanted to go to their dads last night so they could sleep in. Both answered no each time. I figured they would want to sleep in since we were up so early yesterday for Conner's baseball game. But I have to say that I am glad they stayed. I love the time with the kids (even though they drive me nuts sometimes).

They are great kids! When I asked Avery why he didn't want to go to his dads he told me he wanted to also get to celebrate father's day with Chris. I thought that was sweet! It has been a rough week or so and Avery is so thoughtful. We did get to celebrate last night. The boys and Kennedi gave him his Father's Day gift. Chris has been dropping subtle not so subtle hints that he wants a cordless drill. He had one but it finally died months ago. Well now he has one!! I hope its a decent one since I am clueless on them or even why there is such a need for them. It is not like he has time to start major projects for the house. But he was very happy he got one and now wishes he had it weeks ago when he was replacing all light fixtures in the old house.

Chris has his day pretty much planned out, or at least his afternoon. I am sure that many of you can guess what he will be doing.....

That's right!! He will be sitting at the baseball fields cheering on Conner and his team. I told him that he did not have to go if he didn't want to. I figured a day of being lazy would be on his agenda but then again even when we have nothing to do (which is rare) he still has to find something to do around the house. He is not one to sit on the couch and just veg. Oh there are times I wish he would!

OK back to Conner. We played game 1 of the state tournament and somehow we won. The boys did not look great, but in the last minute inning it all came together. I think they were saving all the good plays for today's game. We were down 5-0 and won it 6-5. Whew it was a nail biter for sure. Conner gets a hit and as he is running the bases he sees that no one is on third. Apparently that is all he sees because the Short stop was standing about 2 feet away from him with the ball. So Conner starts to go to third and realizes where the ball is. DUH! He gets himself into a pickle. I am having a heart attack on the sidelines wondering what in the hell he was doing. Yes I did ask him what in the hell he was thinking when he came in.

Anyway, somehow the kid gets himself out of the pickle and was safe at second. Once my heart restarted and I decided I was not going to make him walk the 30+ miles home. I calmed down. He laughs about it! After the game he came up to me and said, Mom that really was not smart base running. Well no S**T! I really hope that he goes back to the smart base running today. I can't handle another one like yesterday.

So at 4pm we will be sitting 30+ miles from home playing a team that we play here in the league. Who does these brackets anyway?? Cant we just play this one on the home field??? GOOD LUCK NATIONALS!! BEAT THOSE ANGELS!!!!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL THE DADS OUT THERE!!!!
