4 weeks already!!

Wow, I can't believe it, today Kennedi turned 4 weeks old!! It makes me sad to think that she is getting older each day and much bigger. I want so bad for her to stay little forever but I know it can't happen. Chris went and got her foot prints from when she was born and we put her foot up to it. It is amazing how much bigger those tiny feet have gotten since the first day.

I just got home a little while ago from visiting Chris at work. We only stayed about 20 minutes but the reason I took her down there was to see how much she weighed. Of course I have to get her weighed at 4 weeks for her baby book (which I have yet to write in). She is steady gaining weight. Tonight she was 10lbs 5oz. She has gained 8oz in a week. That absolutely amazes me that she has gained so much because I see how much she spits up each time she eats. But she really is amazing.

Now for the boys.... Avery had his first football practice tonight. Much to my surprise, he was not the smallest boy on the team! Actually the majority of his team is his height or close to it. They may weigh a little more than him but its hard to be smaller when he is only about 65 pounds. There were a few that were much bigger than he is. I just hope that our team did not get all the small guys. I would hate to be going up against the big guys every week. Avery will keep me busy this fall with practice 3 days a week and then games on the 4th.

Conner has also started his football season. The middle school had a game last night and.. well... we lost. We are hoping that it was just the first game jitters and that next week we will have a better outcome. He, like Avery has football practice 3-4 days a week and then a game on the 5th.

Needless to say, Kennedi will get used to sitting at her brothers practices and games very quickly. So far she has been perfect and has slept through almost everything. The boys are waiting until the days they can hear her calling their names from the sidelines. She is going to be so proud of her big brothers.

I guess that is all for now. Kennedi is starting to stir in her crib.

I took a few pictures today for her 4 week birthday... enjoy them!!

Kennedi's 1st Auburn Game

Since yesterday was opening day for Auburn football and Chris and I have season tickets, we took Kennedi to Auburn for her 1st game. I have to say that I was nervous at first because of the crowd and I did not know how she would react to the loud noises (especially me screaming) but she did great! Most of the game she spent sleeping, even through the yelling of the fans. I on the other hand was more calm at that game than I think I have ever been in my life at a football game. I don't know if it was because she was there with me or if I just didn't think it was the most exciting game. Its hard to get excited when you are ahead the whole game and the other team (Louisiana Monroe) did not look too much better than a high school team. We bought her her first Auburn onsie (it was pink of course) and she had her Auburn hat that her Aunt Barbie bought her seconds after she was born (OK it was a few days after but seconds sounds like Kennedi is more of a fan). She looked so cute!! It was about a thousand degrees out and we were all burning up but she looked so cool in her outfit. I wish I could go around all day in a lightweight onsie without people looking at me like I have major issues.

Well, Kennedi is waking up from her nap so I guess my time on here is over. We go back to Auburn on Saturday for game #2 against Southern Mississippi (I hope this one is a little more exciting but I do not think it will be)....

Have a great Labor Day weekend!!

gotta love the band... I will have to get the best part of the band at next weeks game...

3 Weeks Old Already!!

hey everyone,

Today Kennedi turned 3 weeks old. The time is really going by quickly and I wish there was a way to slow it down. I took Kennedi to the pediatrician this morning for another weight check. I am a little paranoid because she spits up so much. I don't just mean often but the amount that comes up is a lot more than I have ever seen. I have been worrying that she is not keeping enough down. Chris tells me that I am just paranoid... I guess he is right (as usual). When Kennedi was placed on the scale it said she was 9lbs 13.5oz. OK.. I guess she is gaining just fine. I still wish I knew why she spit up as much as she does but I guess for now I do not need to worry about it as much as I have been.

This past week we took Kennedi to get some pictures taken. She did so well!! We got some with her eyes wide open and then others she was sound asleep. When we looked at the proofs there were only 3 pictures that we said no to right away. The rest were yes or maybes. She takes such great pictures already! It will be about 4 weeks until we get our framed picture, I will have to figure out a way to get it on the blog....

She has changed so much in the past 3 weeks. We spent awhile trying to figure out who she looked like. When people first saw her they immediately said things like... oh look those are Chris' cheeks or... she looks just like her daddy. Well I hate to say this but... no she doesn't!!! My mom brought over a picture of me when I was a baby... WOW it is amazing. Kennedi looks exactly like I did when I was a baby. When Chris and I saw the picture we both were amazed. I have scanned the picture that I am talking about and will post it....

This weekend Kenendi will go to her first Auburn game. This will also be her first time out of state. I cant wait to see her get all excited as the players come out on the field. Maybe her first words really will be "War Eagle". Thankfully she 1) is a great traveler and 2) loves her front pack. We will be sure to take lots and lots of pictures to share of her in all her Auburn gear. I think she is as excited as I am for college football season to finally be here.

Well I think that is all for now. Time to get the older kids in bed since it is a school night and hopefully Chris will be home from work soon. Have a safe and fun Labor Day weekend!!

2 week weight check

I can't believe Kennedi will be 2 weeks old tomorrow. Chris and I took her to get her weight checked this morning. She was 9 lbs 4 oz!! WOW I was surprised. I knew that she had gained some weight. She should, she eats non stop!! But I did not think she had gained that much.

She is still so good!! Chris and I are so lucky that we already get to sleep at night. I guess it was not a freak thing because she still only wakes up once a night to eat and then goes back to sleep. Last night she went from about 3 until 730 this morning. It was wonderful. Now if I could just get Chris to wake up every time she cries. He is a great sleeper too, I guess that is where Kennedi gets it from.

This past weekend we took Kennedi bowling. Well she did not bowl of course but Conner, Avery, Chris and I did. She slept the whole time we were in there (imagine that). I just hope she does that good next weekend when Chris and I get real brave and take her to Auburn. We will be sure to take lots of pictures of Kennedi in her orange and blue, as well as some of daddy in his orange and blue!!

I guess that is all for now... I will try to post some more pictures of Kennedi soon.

1 week old!!!

So yesterday was a sad day.... Kennedi turned a week old. That week went way too fast. I really wish that we could freeze her where she is for a little while, she is so much fun to cuddle with and just watch. Yeah I know, she does nothing but eat, sleep and poop (she rarely cries), but the faces she makes are priceless! She smiles all the time. We all know why she does this but hey let us think she is doing it because she likes being here. Her brothers are completely in love with her!! It is amazing, they don't fight about shotgun in the car anymore, now they fight about who is going to sit next to Kennedi or who is going to hold her. The one thing they do not fight about and I wish they would is who will change that dirty diaper. We have no takers on that one!!

She has done so well at night, we had one bad night and I will write about that in a minute but the past two nights she has been PERFECT!!! She has eaten between 1130 and midnight and then again between 315 and 345am and then again between 630 and 700. Today she woke up at 655. It was amazing. When she does wake up she eats (very quickly) and then she is back to sleep. We can't ask for anything better than that.

Ok now to the bad night..... I have to say that I think Kennedi knows what she wants already. I know that is so not a good thing but what can ya do?!?! She has 2 pack and plays. One was downstairs. That one is a new one that we bought and it has the bassinet attachment and changing table on it. The other is one is in our bedroom. It is one that we are borrowing for a few weeks. Its very nice but its a couple of years old and does not have the bassinet attachment. I can't put her in the crib just yet because it seems way to big for her so we went to my sisters and got the pack and play to use for a few weeks. It was bedtime (at least for Chris and I) and we put Kennedi in the bassinet. She did great for a little while but that night we were up all the time. I think maybe I had 2 hours sleep. I ended up keeping her on my chest just so she would sleep. Well we didn't think anything of it and thought maybe I ate something she didn't like (which is still a possibility). But the next night we went to put her in the pack and play and she cried as soon as we put her in. Chris was not going to handle another sleepless night well (and I don't think I would have either) and he came up with, "she doesn't like this crib". OK well I thought that was ridiculous at first. She is not even a week old at the time so how would she know the difference??? He was convinced that was the problem because she sleeps so well during the day downstairs. So he went down to get the new pack and play and brought it up to the bedroom. We put her in the bassinet part and she did not make a sound!!!! She fell right asleep and stayed that way for the next 3 hours or so. Hmmmm OK so the baby is a week old and is high maintenance already! That is so not good for Daddy!!!! But for the second day in a row she has slept great. We now let her nap downstairs in whatever baby thing she is laying in at that time and she sleeps in the pack and play at night. She is also a baby that does not like silence when she sleeps, which to me is such a good thing.

Well that is story number one for Kennedi.... 1 week old, beautiful and high maintenance.... what are we going to have to deal with in another month or so?!?!?

Have a great day!!!
