27 week 3D Ultrasound

Wow... what a night!! Chris, Conner, Avery and I went for our 3D ultrasound. It's pretty cool at this stage to see her cheeks all chubby... we got some of her smiling and opening her mouth.. Chris says he has to get used to two females talking a lot in the house. I didnt think it was too funny!! She had her foot up by her head a lot and her hand in front of her face but the pictures were still way too cute!!

I just wanted to post the pictures before I sat back and relaxed for the evening...

mouth wide open

you can see her hand and her foot is up by her eye.

Mother's Day

It has taken me a few days to write more but I wanted to take a few minutes to write about Mother’s Day. Of course this is not my first one but it was probably one of the best ones so far. Each year on Mother’s Day weekend we have a lacrosse tournament in Roswell. What better way to spend a Mother’s Day than to watch a child on the ball field playing a sport that he loves (and it helps that he goes out and kicks some butt)!

The morning started out with Chris making me breakfast (and yes he cooked it). He brought me eggs over easy and toast. I love to eat this in the morning. After that the boys had been downstairs and they both came up into my room and had these looks on their faces like they were up to something. But then again with my boys…. what’s new?? they each pulled out gifts from behind their back.

Avery had in his little hands a glass case with a new pair of sunglass. This is something that I have needed so badly. I got a nice pair of Ray Bans. I guess Chris got tired of me constantly taking his glasses and him being left with none. After that Conner pulled a little blue bag out from behind his back. Inside that blue bag was a blue box (some of you may know what I am getting at). Inside the blue box was a necklace, not just any necklace but a Tiffany’s necklace. I was shocked. Then Conner told me that he had been saving up his money at his dad’s house and he bought the necklace with his money. I thought I was going to bust out in tears but I think I was in shock so much that it saved me from that. this is the kid that has his the teenage years so badly that many days I want to put him through a wall (no I have not done that yet)… I have to admit if he was trying to butter me up for something… IT WORKED!! I could tell how proud he was of what he did by the look on his face. One day I hope he has a little girl that I can pass that necklace on to.

After we got done at Avery’s game (they won so it made the day even better) I got to choose where to eat. Since we were on the north side I decided on Dave & Busters. I had never been there and I wanted the boys to have fun too (all 3 of them). They did!!

By the time we got home I was EXHAUSTED!!

I will post another update tonight….. We all go for another ultrasound where we will be able to see her chubby cheeks!! I hope she cooperates for it. She is at the point where she moves around non stop and it’s starting to hurt. I guess she will follow in her big brother’s footsteps and be a big baby. I am mentally preparing myself for another 9lb baby!! YIKES!!

25 week doctors appointment...

I just got home a little while ago from my doctors appointment. Everything looked good, well almost everything. I have gained A LOT of weight. When I was pregnant with Avery at 25 weeks I had gained 19.5 lbs. Well lets just say I have topped that for sure. I am going to have to start to walk or ride a bike or something everyday. It was just a lot easier to be active when I was pregnant at 24. Being 35 is a HUGE difference in energy level. I was also told that I should nap often. There is another thing that I rarely get a chance to do! Maybe if I got to take a nap then I would feel like being more active. I guess in about 18 days when I am out of work for the summer I will try that. Kennedi's heart rate was 145. It took forever to find the heartbeat today. She would not sit still long enough for them to get it. Finally I suppose she got tired of flipping around and they were able to hear it. My blood pressure is still good (116/68). That is amazing because as I remember with the boys it was always a little high. They said she was growing good.... I could have told them that by my weight gain and how I feel her all over me!

I go back in 4 weeks, May 28th (I think it is) and have the glucose screening. Oh how exciting! I get to go drink that horrible tasting stuff and sit in the waiting room for an hour just to go back and have them stick me with some needles. Wow.. can't for that! I should start counting down the days. After that appointment is when I will start to go back every 2 weeks. Whew I guess at that point I will feel like it is all right around the corner because at this point 15 weeks still seems like forever! I don't want to wish it away because that would mean wishing my work free summer away. But I guess once she is here I will have 12 weeks to rest before going back to work.

Now a little off topic..... It sure felt good to be home from work today. I got so much done! Conner had an orthodontist appointment this morning to get his braces on. While he was there I went grocery shopping. WOW it was empty in there! It took no time to get in and out of there. When I went back to pick up my little brace face he was no longer all smiles. Its actually been a quiet day since he doesn't want to open his mouth to show any metal. I will post a picture of Conner smiling with his metal. I am sure he will kill me for it but like I told him, braces and chicken pox.... its part of being a kid!

Well until next time.....
Conner's beautiful metal smile...
me at 25 weeks.... yes I am huge!

nothing much to report....

It’s been awhile since I have written anything so I thought I would just stop in and do a short update. Tuesday afternoon (the 29th) I will have my 25 week doctor’s appointment. That morning is a big one for Conner, he is getting his braces. He is not looking forward to it too much but I am looking forward to being able to countdown the weeks or months until they come off. I can’t wait to see his beautiful teeth when they are off.

Other than that there is not much to update. I have not had another ultrasound I the past few weeks. I think Chris and I are going to schedule 3-D so we can get some cute pictures of her chubby cheeks. It will also be cool to have them when she is born so we can compare her now to what she will really look like. All the ones I have seen are pretty darn close!!

I finally found a Longaberger kiddie purse to take to the hospital with me. I have done this with both Conner and Avery. When they are born we give it to the nurse and when she does the footprints she will also put a set of her footprints on the lid of the kiddie purse. Then everything from the hospital goes in the purse for the kids when they are older. I still have all the bands, hats, name cards… and more from the boys. Well this has been a little harder to get this time. A few years ago they retired the kiddie purse and so I have been on the ebay hunt for that for weeks!! Well last week I finally won one!! WHEW that took some stress off because I knew that I HAD to do that for Kennedi also.

I guess that is all for now. I will send another update on Tuesday evening after my Doctors appointment. At least this is not the appointment where I have to drink that horrible stuff and sit there for 3 hours. That will be the next appointment I think!! Not looking forward to that one at all!

Ultrasound.....

Chris and I went yesterday for our 20 week doctor’s appointment and ultrasound. I was a week behind because I am actually 21 weeks and a few days. The first thing they did was the ultrasound. I was happy to hear when I got there that you no longer have to have a full bladder! That was almost the best news of the day because at that point I was miserable. We went back to the ultrasound room and got to look at many different angles of the baby. We got more great news at that time.... 1) there is only one baby still. You may laugh but I have had dreams about this and 2) She is still a girl!!! Another theme of many dreams.

Chris enjoyed the ultraound a lot more because he knew what he was looking at. I had to have most things pointed out to me. They went through all the organs and did lots of measurements. I guess I should have had Chris write this entry since I can not remember half of what they measured and why. I do remember that she is 1lb and that he femur was pretty long. The sonographer said that she was PERFECT!! Now she is my child so was there ever any doubt on that???

They did not change my due date but the ultrasound had it set as 08/08/08 . That is only 4 days off of what they thought originally. Chris and I had said right along how cool that would be to have her born on 08/08/08 but then I am sure the hospital will be packed with people wanting to enduce and having c-sections on that day for the same reason. I guess if she comes then that’s great but I think a week or so earlier would be wonderful!!

As for me, I am moving right along with things. I gained a few pounds this month but they said it was ok because I did not gain any the time before that. My blood pressure was excellent which I think is great since they took it right after I saw my weight. I go back in 4 weeks for my 25 week appointment. WOW 25 weeks sounds like it’s so far along but it’s also still so far away! Time really passes slow when you are pregnant!

I guess that is all to report. Here are some pictures of the ultrasound. We do not have a scanner so it maybe a little blurry from the phone….

aww what a cute little face...

she was moving so much it was hard to get a good foot shot

great shot of the side of her leg.
Daddy thinks she is going to be a great kicker!!

She is still a little girl!!
